  1. I'm 73 and an 8 handicap. I have used the titleist 917 d3 driver since it was first released. My swing speed has slowed down and I now average only 200 yard carry. I am very consistent with the d3 and usually hit the sweet spot. I have tried the new ts1 and ts2 drivers, but I get about the same carry as the 917 d3 and less consistency. Thinking about trying the ts4 or tsi4 drivers. Any one have any advice. Please don't tell me to go get fit. I live in the country and the local salesmen know less about fitting than I do.

I am a couple of years old than you and a 15.7 handicapper and played the 917D2 since they first came out. I went to a fitting for the TS drivers and was only able to get three additional yards. Passed on that series. My club head speed is around 93mph ball spin 2200 and ball speed 132mph. Recently purchased the TSi3, after a fitting, because we picked up ten yards. I took my 917D to the fitting for a comparison. We used the same Fujikura Speeder Tour 64 S shaft I had in my 917 in the TSi3. The aerodynamics of the new head is amazing and the POW and WOW factor is there. I hit the new driver at a inside fitting 230 yards. I suggest seeing a fitter, not a salesman, my fitters are there to make sure that I have the right club and are certified fitters. If I do not need the club, they will let me know. Mine have over 25 years experience and they have nailed it for me for many years. I do not shop at big box stores. These guys are specialists, one works for Titleist and the other owns his own retail/fitting/teaching shop. Trackman does not lie......
