  1. Hi,

Clubs are getting rather battered now.

Is there anything I can do DIY wise to get them looking better Or would they need a full refurb and replating?

The cost to do a major refurbish is probably higher than the replacement value for 716 AP2. You can hunt for cleaner used set or upgrade to the newer irons. The other option is just to embrace the fact that these are tools and tools are supposed to look used. Boils down to a personal choice. Whatever you decide to do, great that you are getting to play. Have fun out there.

If the condition does not affect the playability of the clubs I would not worry about it that much. My main concern would be the condition of the face of the clubs and the grooves. After all, they will be seven years old this fall. I have a set of AP2s (2008) and overall they are in good condition and I just hang on to them with no thoughts of having them reconditioned. Just food for thought. The 2022 releases are something to think about. Sweeeet. =)
