T100s Speed Channel. Predicting a problem…

  1. Went to my local Golf Galaxy this morning to get a look at the new T100 series on release day. They look awesome. The satin finish isn’t nearly as “dull” as I was worried about. My head was thinking png type finish but these are great. Honestly the top line and overall address position looks no different than the previous T100 model. Now….the T100s has a speed channel on the 4-6 irons. It’s not really noticeable unless you know it’s there which of course I did. I don’t know how to describe it but it looks like a strip or almost like a sticker over that channel. The issue is that it was positioned differently on each of the irons(4-6). Looks very unfinished and like an afterthought on how to visually cover the channel. The 6 iron channel wasn’t even fully covered to where it looks like grass and dirt would trap. A normal person would have taken a picture…. In any case, wondering if anyone else has noticed this potential “after thought.”….

Sounds like something happened with the polymer application during manufacturing. Rest assured this is an anomaly and we'd replace any irons with visual gaps that are not to up to our standards.

T100·S wouldn't get the desired launch with the decreased lofts without that muscle channel. I really wanted to get T100·S as that muscle channel in combination with the polymer makes the ball feel like it's melting off the face but I didn't like what the extra distance was doing to my gapping.

Trust every iron we release goes through vigorous simulations including bag chatter tests that simulate 100s of rounds and T100·s passed wit flying colors.
  3. Hi Jason,

You observation is interesting in that I have experienced a problem with my 3 - 6 T100S irons. I spotted a rusty liquid seeping out around the polymer insert at the back of the clubs after cleaning them. The insert was loose so I gently removed it so I could clean the rusty liquid off the club only to find that there was a crack along the muscle channel. As a result water has seeped into the cavity and that's where the rust is coming from. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Yikes, you might want to take that to a Titleist dealer/rep for their inspection
