Make sure you do nothing to the face or it may be deemed "nonconforming" if you play in any events. Another perspective, do not trust a landscaper that shows up in a brand new truck with a clean lawnmower and shovels and rakes that still have paint on them. These are tools of the trade and the best golfers hit a lot of shots and their clubs show that wear and tear. Take pride in the look of your worn sticks and every time you look at them, know you put in the work to play your best. That said, I too try to find that balance between the inevitable wear marks but not letting them bang up against anything too severely. Hopefully you find that balance point too over the next several months as you give that driver a workout. Have fun out there.

I'm definitely the same way. I like my stuff to show wear but normal wear. I also clean my clubs immediately after I use them and I have had people ask me if my stuff was just bought because I do care for my equipment. Nothing wrong with using your nice equipment and taking care of it. Believe me, there are times where I get a small scratch that wasn't from use and it's a bummer haha
