The best person to answer that question would be a fitter during a fitting session.

Go see a Titleist (or Professional) Fitter & let him/her assess what you will need.

I got fitted for my 716 Ap1's with a XP 90 Regular shaft back in 2016.
In 2020 I was fitted with T200 & AMT Black S300 shafts 1/2" longer & 2* up.
I am 58 now.

I always get fitted by a Titleist fitter, either at the course or through a Titleist Thursday event.

Go to a fitter outdoors. Hopefully you can find a Titleist fitter or a Titleist Thursday event. You definitely want to to work with a Titleist fitter see the ball flight and stats if you are going with a different head/shaft.

The T300 seems to be a popular club in fittings. You may not need senior or R flex shafts. The stock shaft in the T300 is the AMT Red. It starts at less than 100 grams for the longer clubs and increases in weight by 3 grams as the clubs get shorter. You can see the specs on this website. When paired with the T300, you get higher launch and more distance. There are many shaft options with Titleist irons with no upcharge.

I play the T200, which has the AMT Black. Same concept as the AMT Red but not as high a launch and its a little heavier on each club.

I got fitted the last week of August and went with the T300 with the AMT Red shafts 2* up, still waiting for them to come in but I like the ball flight and distance I got at the fitting.

Tagging onto the primary recommendation to work with a fitter first, shaft flex is only a minor determinant. It only refers to the flex within that one line of shafts. A fitter can find a shaft with an appropriate weight, flex point (impacts launch), and then drill down to the flex for that shaft. Flex is impacted more by transition - a more rapid/jerky calls for a stiffer shaft. At one point I needed a light, high launching shaft for my low speed swing but in a stiff flex for my transition.

Slight correction to my post about the AMT Red shafts. They do not increase in 3g increments like the AMT White and AMT Black. They increase in weight from 94g to 105g throughout the set.

I have had last 3 sets fit by titleist trained pro on outdoor ranges, just wondering if the surgery will decrease my speed, or if my swing will get affected

I am at 5 months since my rotator cuff surgery, I have payed 6 rounds since being released to play. I have the AMT stiff T100s irons, I feel like I am stronger since I had my shoulder fixed. I agree with the others, get fit, worth the money/time.

Same advise as above, get to a fitter. Try as many different shafts as you can as they have varied characteristics one brands stiff flex can react different to another brands stiff. Just get out there and try as much as you can

I know I sound like a broken record, but you should go through a fitting. I was fitted for all my clubs and 2 years later I had a long overdue rotator surgery on my right shoulder. At age 60, I wanted it to fully heal so I didn't swing a club for 3 months and then another 2 months before playing. When I started playing on a regular basis, I wanted to get the 718 AP1 irons, and had a friend who is a golf instructor tell me that after surgery and healing up, I was swinging more freely so I should go for another fitting. Ended up with the same iron shaft but went from 2 degree up and stiff shaft to 1 degree flat and regular.
