  1. Hi, Is it possible to get a weight for the 818 H2 lighter than 10g? I need a lower swing weight.

Also, will I crack or otherwise damage the head if I use NO weight (keeping the star screw in, of course)? Thanks.

Maybe try after-market providers on the internet. Some used to sell a 8g weight. Experimenting with a newer hybrid is not advisable but a replacement 818H2 will run you less than $100 so going without a weight may not be high risk.

On a quick check, I couldn't find one. Not using a weight will make the club non-conforming for competition. I don't know it that will impact the stability, but that is a lot of weight to remove, going from 10-12 g to zero.

If I learned club geometry correctly, you could use a heavier grip or add a weight under the grip end.

Don, How does no weight make the club non-conforming if he puts the screw in place? It does not change the approved shape of the head, only reduces the weigh.

If professional golf players used to add lead tape to the back of their irons, I guess adding various weights or none at all can only change the weight of the club.

If I were you, I would look into changing the weight of the shaft, instead of changing the 10g weight in the head.

Many still do add lead tape and the USGA rules on conforming clubs do list lead tape specifically as allowable and also states you can not leave a weight port open, creating a hollow cavity that alters the approved construction but closing the opening with the set screw now makes it conforming.
