T300 weight loose

  1. Today was the first time my new T300's made it out to the course. Great irons overall. However, on the 18th tee, I noticed a rattle coming from the head of my 4 iron. Looking into the back cavity, didn't notice anything missing or loose, but you could definitely hear it. I waited 5 weeks for these custom clubs to arrive and fear I'll now be waiting another 5 weeks to get a replacement 4 iron. Anyone experience something like this with the new T300s?

My son has the 2021 T300s and the tungsten weight came loose in the 6-iron. It was sent back to Titleist for a warranty repair last Monday, May 9. I hope Titleist can repair the weight in the head, because if the head is going to be replaced, the wait time can be awhile. Quoted a possible 5-6 weeks for the replacement, as a week or two if the head can be repaired.

This happened to me with my 5 iron last season. Brought it over to Joe and Leighs and they took care of it for me. Turn around from Titleist was very fast, maybe a couple weeks at most. No issues with the replacement at all.
  4. I have had my T300 irons for over 3 months and have not had any issues with them. I never used a 4 iron before I purchased this set. I love my 4 iron and would never leave home without it.
  5. I will add my experience to the list of those experiencing loose or cracked weights with their T300s. My T300s are the second generation version and I have probably 10 to 15 rounds total on them. Yesterday the 7 iron made a very strange noise upon impact and afterward is was clear something had come loose. Took it to the PGA Superstore and the repair person said they are seeing this problem regularly. In my case the weight cracked. While I know Titleist will stand behind their product, this appears to be a serious and regular problem. Is it design or quality of materials? It would be nice to hear from a Titleist person if they feel they have an issue on their hands. I love the clubs, but fear being without a club for weeks at a time if this is going to be a regular thing.
  6. Just a quick update on this issue. Stopped by the PGA Superstore to see if there were any updates and they told me all Titleist warranty issues are 6 to 8 weeks at this point. That's a bit long to someone who had a new club break. I know Titleist monitors these discussions. Would be nice for someone to weigh in on this specific issue. Is there a design flaw with the new T300s?

Robert, no Titleist employee is going to speculate formally in this forum where opinions could be subject to any frivolous lawsuits in this day and age. I know that every design gets a full year of testing and extensive quality and performance analysis before they are released. That's why there are 2 years between releases which is longer than some other companies. As for the repair time, again, Titleist wants to make sure the repair is up to the same standards as new builds so they are not going to just slap a replacement head on a shaft and mail it back. A few years ago there was an issue with bad epoxy from a vendor that did not surface until some of the heads began to come off. There was no way to know this would happen until the epoxy aged a bit. Sometimes these issues never surface until clubs have been in play for a while. It's unfortunate you have had this problem and hopefully it does not happen again.

Titleist Products are tested to the limits by robots, humans & air cannons.
Believe me they are put through many many tests......when the products are released they are fine tuned machines.
Sure there will be some failures...Titleist will stand by their warranty within reason and take care of their consumer when these issues appear.

That rattle could be a little excess epoxy glue.

I have the T300 also my 4,6,7 all broke on the range. Unbelievable 3 irons can break in one set but they did.

Most ranges are the roughest places for a golf club to survive. Between rock hard range balls and many ranges using thin mats on concrete surfaces, anyone with a steep swing is putting a lot of pressure on the golf club. Also, when you say break did the iron break in half or did the epoxy give out and the clubhead come off? If one club in a set has bad epoxy you should always assume the entire set will be the same and have them all checked and re-glued.
  12. good afternoon can ask you a question ,my 5 iron weight crack and it make that railing noise, it was at the driving range ,you ask about if the iron broke on the range ,so my question is you don't recommend to used the irons on the range if you hit off a matt ? I took it to the store and they said it will be repair by the company but I don't want it to happens again. thanks for you time.

I would not go so far as to tell anyone not to ever hit range ball off of mats. I am just saying that some range balls and some mats create the most stress on the golf club. Combine that with someone who swings really hard and/or hits down steeply and you are more likely to create a separation in the epoxy. Bad epoxy may take months to discover so it is only through problem acknowledgement that something like this can be discovered and enough data to determine if it is common in all T300's or just certain batches produced at certain dates. Not only are they fixing your 5 iron, they are collecting information and researching the root cause. I play T300 but only 6 - GW and have had no problems so far.
  14. Earlier this afternoon, while hitting my 4 iron at the range i was really making solid shots and all of a sudden ofter one hit i heard this rattling where the tungsten weight is and a couple seconds later the weight fell out of the open cavity in multiple pieces. Let me add i just bought these irons yesterday after noon. Don't get me wrong, i love these clubs.. honestly I've never hit the ball so well & consistent. And even thought i might not need the 4 iron due the distance im getting, i would like a new one covered under the warranty.
  15. This has happened to a few of us now, and undoubtedly others that aren't aware of this forum. Titleist does stand behind the product and gets replacements sent within reason given current supply chain issues. That being said, the fact that it is continuing to occur is concerning. Whether the person I spoke with at the PGASS was just having a bad day or whether it is true, his comment that they were seeing this problem regularly is a red flag. All we can do is hope they continue to stand behind the product for a reasonable period. As others have stated, I really like the clubs.

This just happened about a month ago to my 7 iron after 12-15 rounds with them. Titleist got it back to me in less than 3 weeks.
