Will be at a TSR fitting day in November. I prefer a light shaft but my current TSI2 Driver has to much spin (Kuro Kage 50 shaft). I am interested in the TSR2 Driver but before the testing I wanted to know which light shaft is better, the new Hzrdus red 50 or the Tensei 55? My SS is 85 to 90.

Better for who? Everybody swings a little different. That's what the fitting is for. You already scheduled it so be open minded and let the fitter show you what works best.

Both are stiff at the butt and really soft at the tip. The Tensei Blue is more softer in the lower mid than the HZRDUS Red I think. Both are really whippy to me but I use the Ventus Black and new Tensei 1K Black in my Driver and 3W which are both the complete opposite of the 2 you are comparing.

The Kuro Kage, Tensei CK Blue, and HZRDUS Red CB are all mid launch mid spin shafts I believe. The lighter shaft will also increase spin compared to a heavier shaft.

The biggest contributor to your spin numbers would not be the shaft though, it would likely be your spin loft. The spin loft is the difference between the angle of attack and the dynamic loft. So if you hit down on the ball with a 12* driver head you're gonna have huge spin numbers.

You're not likely to see a big difference between the 3 shafts. Michael Newton Golf does a review on the 4 new Titleist shaft options. He actually had lower spin on the mid launch/mid spin shafts than he did on the low launch/low spin shafts. They all flew almost the same yardage at almost the same height with almost the same decent angle.
  4. One isn't "better" than the other. Try both in your fitting and be open to your fitter's suggestions. The launch monitor does not lie.
