    Hi all,

I have been thinking when it the perfect time to upgrade my irons, I think it is about time, but have heard rumors that new Titleist irons will be releasing in 2023. I am currently gaming AP1s 716. Definitely need to upgrade eventually. What do you think?

Titleist historically changes their irons on a two year cycle. Next cycle would be 2024. So keep you eyes and wallet open for the new 2024 irons to be offered to the public around the end of September or early October 2023. Know I have plans on new T300s, depending on my health issues. History always repeats itself. Hakuna matata.

Titleist does not send out test sets of irons like they do their golf balls. They will pre-release to tour pros a few months before full production release. You will get to see some pictures and info just like we did a few months ago when the TSR woods were released.

Unlike balls, there isn’t a sprinkling of clubs for testing. With a historic pattern of releasing iron around September, those of us in the more Northern climates won’t be playing the 2023 release much before the 2024 season.

The T-Series are on a two-year cycle and new models should be out around September 2023.

With regards to upgrading from the AP1 irons, the T-300s would be the direct replacement. With the Max Impact Technology in the T-300s, expect the T-300s to be around one iron longer (about 10 yards) if not longer.

Titleist releases are on a two year cycle, so the next release for new irons will be fall of 23. Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with upgrading now.

I agree. The new T Series irons are unreal. Make sure you get fitted.

I'd wait for the 2023 irons. AP1 716's are nice clubs. I had a set myself.
  10. You are correct, new irons should be released around d Autumn 2023.
However, I would highly recommend looking at the current T200s they have got me down to my lowest handicap of 1.5. Very forgiving that suits all handicap ranges.

This may be an unpopular opinion, and I don't even like saying it. I have played Titlest irons forever. When I look at new irons or wedges, I just start from the default that they are going to be Titleist because that's what I know.

I'm sorry though - this current lineup of irons just feels stale and has me looking elsewhere. The T100 is basically all you get if you are a better ball striker. And if you don't vibe with that club, you are pretty much out of luck. The 620cb was a significant step back in performance over the 716/718 CB. And the t200 is kind of off the table if you don't want to be gaming a 43° PW.

Looking back in the historical iron catalog I just feel like the designs were more varied in the past, and tried different things. From 2000-2009, (and really even up to 2018) there were some awesome and really inventive designs that it was easy to get excited about. Now, I don't even know what I'm waiting for anymore.

Oh my god, there's another one out there. With the same profile picture too!
I'm not as talented as most of you, but for me I still use the 718 AP1. I have a playing partner who uses the 718 AP3 and when I'm dialed in I love hitting them, but I just don't have the consistency to justify buying a set. Before that I had the 714 AP1, and didn't see any improvement with the 716. I actually was able to order the 718 AP1 after the T300 came out, because I had better results with them. I think the technology has pretty much peaked, so you could be just getting a shiny new club instead of actual improvement. Still look forward to trying out the latest, but if the numbers aren't significantly better, I'll keep what I have. I'm kinda emotionally attached to them so don't want to break up a good relationship.

I played the 714 AP1, then 2019 T300. I changed to 2021 T200 this year. Go to a Titleist fitter and try the current models. It will depend on the club’s performance, but the updated technology will improve your game. Have fun. Don’t worry about playing the newest model.

I gamed the 718 AP1s before switching to the T100s Irons…and I have a second set of 620MBs. Caveat like everyone always says, get fit, BUT if you are interested in taking a step towards less forgiving players irons, go with the T100s irons as the distances will be about the same. If you want to keep that same forgiveness I think the T200 irons are likely the way you will want to go. When you get fit, try those two and I don’t think you will be disappointed!
  15. I've been playing Titleist irons since the 712 series. I have noticed a significant improvement across the lineup, from SM9 all the way to Driver. You can wait until the next release and I'm sure that there will be some innovation but is it worth waiting until FALL 2023? Personally, I would upgrade right now and get a 10 month head start with new irons.
