  1. As someone who has been in the Golf Industry for 20 years (cally Golf ISR & PXG Player Support Specialist), I still cannot believe all the golfers that believe that there is still a spin in todays graphite golf shafts. Has anyone heard of ‘clocking?’

I wonder if Old Tom Morris made sure the hickory grain ran parallel to the face of his irons? Most of us will never be good enough to differentiate minor variation in manufacturing. Just hit'm, find the ball, hit it again. Oh, and have fun out there.

Hi, here a subject that could divise opinions.
I read a on spinning, flat line oscillation ( F.LO.) and Puring a shaft. I watch video on this subject and discuss with some professional club builders.
On what I understand is that a shaft is not perfectly round and those process try to reduce the imperfection of shaft by find the better way to place the shaft on the head.

Some golfers believe in that and other dont.
My take is, if you believe in that and it is giving you confidence, it is a positive thing.
Personally, I think that there is a spine in metal shaft that is compose by the welding done at manufacturing and should be apparent inside the shaft.
In graphite shaft, I the process differ and may not be a real spine but the shaft has not the same stiffness depending where it is bending. It is imperfection.
Sometime, I verify a new shaft with the bearing method, often to see how good or bad it is.
But when I assemble my club, I used the F.L.O. method and I oriente the shaft permitting a flat line oscillation.
I could be wrong, but I like to do it and it is not expensive.
If I was not assembling my club, I would probably not do it.

    Whatever inspires you is fine.

I’ve never felt a club was consistently contributing to offline strikes. Or a Titleist ball rolling offline from being off center. I used to go to Jiffy Lube every 3000 miles. I go with the manufacturer guidelines now.
