  1. After getting fit for a new hybrid to go with my new T200's, the last non-Titleist club in my bag is my trusty Cobra 3 wood. However, it is now a few years old. Who has hit the new TSR2+ 3 wood? Did you like the bigger head? I realize that it seems to be designed to make it easier to hit off the tee, but what about hitting off the ground? Just looking for some feedback. How does it compare to the TSR3 3 wood?

    I am coming from a TS2 15° 3W.

I found the TSR2 to be launching too high and hooky. I also have a tendency to hit my fairway woods toward the toe.

For these reasons I went with a TSR3 to replace my TS2. I have the weight positioned in T1 and actually added 2g of lead tape crammed into the T2 position to increase swing weight. Having the weight in the T position will slightly (very slightly) move the center of mass to the toe to help keep ball speeds up off toe strikes. Same for putting the weight in the heel position.

The TSR2+ for me is just too long. I sometimes will loft my 15° to 16.5° because on firm fairways it will run out to driver distance. If you struggle with getting launch off the deck, 13.5° might make it more difficult, more loft would benefit you.

As far as head size, it's personal preference, but I play a TSR4 and 712 MB/CB combo soo I would say no, I do not like the bigger head size. The reasons for playing these clubs are definitely not because of my ball striking ability. Haha.

Keith, I have the TSR2+. Unfortunately I haven't hit the TSR3 to compare but yes, I love the larger head and lower loft. I was fit for a 13.5 several years back. I mainly hit 3-wood off the tee and rarely on a par 5 for my second. However, it has no issues launching. It's certainly not a 1-way club for me, I just prefer my 5-wood (also TSR2) from the fairway. I play a lot of my golf on municipal courses if you know what I mean :)

I haven't been on a launch monitor with it but the launch looks amazing to my eye and I've been super consistent day-to-day with it.

If you're looking for a lower lofted option, I don't think you'll find anything better.

I just got a TSR2+. Played first round with it today. I only plan on using my 3 wood off the tee so I didn't try it off the deck. I have the 5 wood for fairway shots. Love it so far. Got the 14.5 and adjusted it +.75 with a slight draw. Same shaft as my driver. Hit it really well. About 15-20 yards shorter than my 10 degree driver.
  5. I've had my 14.5* for a few weeks now. I love it. The head isn't really that big, I don't look down at it when hitting it off the deck and worry at all about it being too big to get airborne. I like the slightly deeper face, makes it easier from those good lies in the rough where sometimes I'd sky them. I also hit it off the fairway just fine (I'm an 8 HCP, so it's not like I'm some ball-striking savant here.) Solid off the tee, I use it on tight holes where I really need to hit the fairway without losing a ton of distance compared to driver. The really low CG more than makes up for the deeper face. To me it's a win-win. Get a bigger face that's still really easy to hit.

I have had the TSR2+ for a few months. I play it straight away at 13*. For me the club is only used from the tees. It's super long and replaced my TSI2 13.5*. I have never been one to hit 3 wood off the deck and have always used them as tee replacement clubs on tight par 4's or when the driver is not cooperating for the day. So, this club fits perfectly in my bag as it is only 15-20 yds shorter than my driver. It is definitely a low launch, low spin head for me so pairing it with the right shaft is critical for optimization. I currently game the TSR2+ at 42.75" with +2g in the head paired with the Project X RDX Red 70g 6.5. Absolutely love this club!

I've had the 2+ for about four months now and love it. Almost exclusively hit it off the tee except when I pull it by mistake thinking I am grabbing my five wood...
Nearly as long off the tee as my driver, but keeps the ball down under the Texas wind
