Different fonts is not a certain sign. You can check the serial number at Titleist.com (see bottom of website for link about counterfeits). Titleist will know if a 3 iron has that number and/or if it is appearing on more than 1 iron.

We do not have a check link on our site. Only a reporting form for bad retailers.

I am not a specialist in fake club, but I think the top club is the real and I suspect that the bottom one is fake. Titleist are very constant with fonts and other details.

On Ebay, there are often fake clubs, fake grips etc. offering.

Often, the prices are to good but the clubs are not, so not a good deal.

How do I check a serial number on a Titleist iron to verify it isn't a fake?

The serial number is used to register your new irons right after purchase. Over time, the iron serial numbers will be dropped. Also, counterfeit clubs can use real numbers. All they have to do is see one regular set and copy that number over and over. The only way to really know that you are getting a real set is to purchase it new through an authorized dealer or purchase used from a reliable source.
