I have played Titleist for almost all my golfing years, my bag is almost completely Titleist included to the glove. But now I’m wanting to maybe upgrade my irons to the new generation however it seem like the game improvement side has went to the hollow plastic backed irons and I just don’t see them lasting. I’m a senior golfer and still have a good swing speed but enjoy the forgiveness of my T300’s. I just don’t see why Titleist went this way adding the plastic badging on their irons, so when I upgrade soon I probably will be looking for something else because I have seen and read all the reports of them falling off and peeling. My T300’s still look close to mint.

Just make your next set of GI irons from another brand aren’t also using a backplate as well. With a forged face welded onto a cast chassis with tungsten weights added, a backplate is a common solution.
Titleist has built thousands of T200/350 iron sets. The actual percentage may be very small but still a significant problem for those affected. No one complains when the backplates stay attached. I was so impressed with the 3rd generation over the T300 that I was sold in a handful of swings. I’m still as happy as a clam with my T200’s that if a back came off, I would just epoxy it back on.
I do suggest you demo a T series iron with another vendor’s club. Brand X has to be close to the feel and sound to walk away from Titleist.

Greg, Sr here. Be 78 next month. Loved the T300s. Bought mine when they first released. Went to see my favorite fitters as I always do when new equipment is released and feel in love with the T350s. Great feel and performance for me. Would see a fitter and see which shaft works best. Ended up with the same I had on the T300s. They are forged and love that feel plus the forgiveness.
