Not to be argumentative but I am not sure what the point would be to hear if it fit “Sam” and not “Joe”? All that matters is which shaft and head combination fits your swing. It’s certainly not a popularity contest when it comes to giving each person the best set up for their individual needs. Ordering a club on line based on what others use or what is most popular is a a big risk. I know that not what you asked but it’s the best advice I can give.

Not to be argumentative, … but…
I currently have the HZDOUS Red but the Denali Red is not yet listed on the Project X site nor in the custom catalog for comparison or performance charts. I was wondering if this replaces/upgrades the HZDOUS Red shaft. The TSR-1 and TSR-2 weren’t different enough to add the TSR-1. Will be waiting to compare the GT-1 and GT-2 when the 1 series comes out. In any event, beyond my curiosity, the fitter will get me the right choice.

Yes - loved the shaft. Played the Ventus Blue 6S and Ventus Red 6s. The Denali is a little softer IMO but loved the kick at the bottom of the shaft. It is all about the feel and results with shaft. Tested in the GT 2 and was spinning over 3000. Then tried the GT3 with the shaft and spin was 2200-2400. Go test it - it won't be for everyone but I loved the shaf
  5. What was the weight and flex in the Denali Red you used ?
  6. I had my GT fitting on July 26th. We went through several shafts, including the Ventus Blue 65-S which is in my current TSR3 and the Denali Red. The Denali Red was winning until we swapped out for the stock Tensei 1K Blue 65. I put three drives on top of each other with a 234-236 carry with a 12 degree launch and the lowest spins of the day. The Denali had a very good weight to it, I could feel the club head just fine, but the misses had a bit more spin than the Ventus, the GD CQ6 and the Tensei. I had very consistent contact throughout the fitting, but the Denali just felt a bit looser and I was never able to hit it dead straight nuts like I was with the Tensei. The Denali had a higher launch and if I left it open a hair the misses spun a bit more than the others leading to a bigger dispersion. At the end it was the GT3, with 2 extra grams of weight in the center of the track, with the Tensei 1k Blue 65. Saved me a few bucks and I always have the Ventus from my TSR3 to fall back on. The Tensei was about 10-15 yards longer in carry based on a much better launch angle for me than the Ventus and CQ6.

Looking forward to getting this bad boy in the bag!

    Cheers,

    Chris
  7. What was the weight and flex you tried in the Denali Red ?
  8. I had my GT driver fitting a few weeks ago and I was coming from teh TSR3 with the Ventus Blue 6S. It looked like the Tensei Blue 1k was going to be the shaft, but then the fitter said he had something to try - he brought out the MMT Speedmesh 40 . That shaft has quite a bit of flex in a standard waggle test, so I was skeptical, but...

AS I started to hit it, I really liked it. Carry was increased and roll out decreased - I have played a couple of rounds with it and am liking it more and more. The funny thing is I am a lifelong drawer of the the driver and this setup (GT2 9º, MMT) wants to hit a fade /straight ball. I just do not hit the draw as well with this setup. It has been fun seeing the height of the launch and extra carry.

The other thing this setup yields is much better off center hits - low heeler and high toe. More times than not the ball mark is in the center of the face - which puts a smile on my face :)
