Before I get started, my favorite club in the bag is the TSR1 23 fairway and I just acquired a GT2 18* fairway.

I recently replaced my TSR1 26 with a TS2 25 (38.5”). The latter is 1* more upright and is much easier to swing and felt much more solid.

I picked up a 913F 17* fairway quite cheaply and put a Diamana 72 R shaft on it. I have the Bassara A in reserve for a later date. Much easier to hit off the deck vs TSR1 18 fairway. The GT2 18 has my old shaft (the store let me do a shaft swap with the TSR1). Both the GT2 (Diamana 70R) and the 913F are about equal except the latter has a more penetrating ball flight. The first pic shows the comparison in head sizes.

    I’m using a 695MB 8 iron (with Project X 6,0) and it actually hit about 3 yards farther vs a T150 8 iron.

The 910F 21 in the 2nd pic outperformed a TSR1 20* fairway. Both are 41.5”. The former has an Ilima 70 and the latter a Diamana 72R.

My 2 cents is the 910F and 913F fairways are the best. I believe the TS2 and 816H1 are the best hybrids and 910H in 3rd. I’ve had my 816H1 for 6 years now. I had a 913F 19 and 816H1 25 that I played on and off between 2017-2019. I’ve been playing a 910F 21 in various shaft iterations since 2015 (started with Bassara and went to Kai’li in 2019). I also kept a 910H 27 (set to 38.5) that had various shaft iterations since 2012 and carried it on and off through 2022 (used Bassara at the outset and switched to Kaili at the start of COVID; the final shaft iteration was Ilima 70).

Also I just recently re-added a Sumo2 SQ 34. For those that swing triple-x shafts and hit a PW 150 yards don’t scoff. Fred Couples carries a 7 iron as his longest iron. Mine has a stiff shaft and it is a no brainer.

I play a 60g driver shaft and 70g fairways & hybrids. 25H is soft stepped Tensei 70 stiff. 816H1 27 is Tensei 75 soft stepped stiff.

I say stick with the old!!! They have way more character! I love hitting my 975D and 975J drivers. They feel so much more satisfying than my TSR4. That currently has been bumped for a BS Tour B1 Japanese import. The driver is just so good. BS makes great clubs, it's a shame they only sell fantastic golf balls in the US.

I have a TSR3 3W which I bought when the face on my TS2 caved in. I initially purchased a TSR2 but it was launching so different, swapped it for TSR3 and have the weight in T1. It's been pretty solid, but I honestly believe I should have just gotten another TS2 for 1/2 the price I paid for the TSR.

I had a 913F 3W and I gave it to my friend cause he loved it soo much. He took his SiM out of the bag for it. Ended up getting more Titleist fairway and hybrid to replace his TM ones.

I purchased a set of 712 MB/CB combos (in my avatar pic) for $250 just to mess around on par 3 courses. I had Miz MP20 HMB i bought for the forgivness over my 718 AP2 and sold the AP2 to help pay the cost of the Miz. Worst golf decision I've ever made.... The Miz lasted 30 days before I resold them. They didn't spin and didn't hold greens, and went far but didn't feel good. This was as the 712 MB/CB were performing more predicably and stopping on greens. I have no problem stopping my CB 4i within 3-4 yards of where it lands. On softer greens It will check up within 6ft of where it lands. with the MP20 I couldn't keep a 9i from flying off the back of the green. I sold them for what I paid for them, but also kept the 3i which I use to this day, but reshafted with a Ventus Blue HB 9X.

The 712 stayed in the bag for a year until the next December I said I need to eat humble pie and I bought T200 irons. Those didn't even last 30 days before I sold them. The distance was so unpredictable... my 46 Vokey I hit 125-130yds. I was hitting that T200 PW anywhere from 135-155. It was anyone's guess how far that thing would go... I had 5 wedges in the bag... it was ridiculous and I was hitting that T200 4i like 250+ off the tee... My gapping was completely screwed up through the entire bag. I sold them to a guy for $100 less than I got them for on the condition he would give me back the X100 shafts cause he couldn't use them and had Steelfibers. I stuck them in my 712s and they've been in the bag unless I pull them for the BS J15CB I got. Also $250 also old as heck...

I am by no means a good golfer, I play to a 13-14 handicap and will shot anywhere from 78 to 98 on any given day. But the old 712s have been so much more consistent and predictable for me even though they don't have anywhere near the forgiveness of newer clubs. And I've hit the Apex CBs, P7MC, T100, T150, 620 CB, 620 MB, MP, ZX7... nothing has shown any significant difference that would warrant spending $1500 on new irons. My inconsistent swing will have more effect than forgiveness on the face.
