In the past the TT headcovers and TT merchandise that we receive for going to events and special promotions were coveted items and cherished by most of us TT members. Just saw on facebook that some of the new TT headcovers, that some were able to purchase, appeared on eBay for sale for $288 and $289. So much for having a headcover that has a special meaning. I guess it is theirs and they can do what they want with it, but personally I say back to the old way of getting it at the events or maybe keep it in house on Titleist.com. Facebook opens it up to too many who are money hungry. Same thing that happened with the Scotty Cameron members in purchasing releases and them appearing on eBay ten minutes after the released hit the emails to its members. Just sayin'. =(

unfortunately, it's been the same thing with SC covers for years. Listed for sale immediately after the release.

It's hard to stop people from putting stuff on ebay and such, but I'll be the first to admit that the driver headcover, balls, and hats release was epic as a long time TT member. I disagree with only having these at special events and encourage something like this quarterly. The TT members on FB who have been asking for something like this for a long time, then turned around and complained extensively about the prices. This somewhat surprised me, but then again to each his own. I set an alarm, and immediately grabbed a headcover and hat. The Cameron collectors have been around for years and have been flipping items for just as long. The only way the TT flippers will gain any traction is if members buy their stuff. Just don't buy and stay the course. You can't sell what people don't buy. Anyway, I can't wait to get my stuff in the mail tomorrow.

Totally agree!! I was able to order three hats (one each & an extra when one gets dirty & definitely not to sell) but the headcover was no longer available while I was trying to check out with it in my cart. $125 did seem high but was going to get one. I would never sell it or buy one on eBay.
The TT bag tags are the same. I’m patiently waiting for mine from Titleist when or if they send me one. Once again I’d never buy one on eBay. Wouldn’t mean much to me if I had to buy it.
Anyways to each their own. If people would work hard for what they have & get and not just “buy it” it should mean more to them. Well maybe not to everyone I guess.
I mean you could just buy a “hole in one” tag too I guess?? Where does it stop being meaningful if you didn’t earn it???

For those of us who aren't fortunate enough to be able to afford the events or the scheduling may not fit, the TT release was awesome IMO.

It is simple economics. Supply and demand. I had to buy the new TT bag tag on ebay. Just wait for a deal but if something is limited and hard to get it is valuable. Like somebody said look at Scotty stuff

This kind of resale puts a frown on my face...it is the reason some get involved in our community and do not add any value outside of profit hunting...it diminishes our community by taking away items that good members could put to good use and enjoy to enhance their experience!
  11. Many are using the Scotty Cameron as a justification....I would differ. Most of SC items are bought online and then flipped but the people are not part of a "community" they are just buying and selling. OUR community is not the same way IMHO, if we let it become that way it will become impersonal and negative longer term.

  12. There are many people in the SC/Titleist community who use the profit from "flipping" to purchase other items that are more limited and more expensive. It is not always a money grab like many people think. Despite where it is bought and sold and for what price these items will ultimately find their way into the hands of someone who is a brand enthusiast and supporter.

I'd be afraid to buy a TT headcover for $120+. I'm sure some opportunistic low-life would pluck it off my unattended bag and sell it on ebay for $250+.

Whenever I leave my cart for a minute to run inside or hit balls on the range, I ALWAYS pull my hanging towel up over my Scotty, Vokey wedges and Titleist irons just to make them less noticeable to others and act as one more little line of defense. (But not over the hybrids and metals, which would be a bit too obvious.) If someone really wants something in your bag, a towel won't stop them. My hope is only to deflect attention so my stuff might not jump out at them so loudly when they scan around quickly for bags with hot items, which might be ripe for picking.
