  1. Hello Everyone!

Just picked up my very first set of golf clubs (extremely good deal on a complete set of Titleist ) and want to make sure i take care of them the entire time i have them.

Im curious to know what everyone is using on the course for cleaning off your clubs. and what to do once I'm home after a day at the range/ golf course.

Thank you, and looking forward to enjoying this sport!

Congrats Raymond and hopefully the beginning of a long and enjoyable golf experience. Dish soap and a soft brush works for me. Same on the grips after 5-10 rounds. Most important is to keep them dry. Rust can creep in pretty easily so keep them dry and if you can store them between rounds in a controlled temperature environment, even better. They will get scratched and nicked up over time and that's okay. Just proves they are tools and doing their job.

Congrats! I hope you enjoy your clubs, Raymond.

    My tip is quite simple:

Your best friends are a microfiber towel (on/off course), a tee/divot tool (on course) and a toothbrush (off course), whereas your worst enemies are soap and metal polish.

I am not obsessive compulsive about most things, but I am about my golf clubs and always have been. Obviously I wipe them down after every shot with a soft towel on the course, but when I get home, I give them a complete bath. I fill up a bucket of plain tepid water (for whatever reason, I do not use soap of any kind) and then scrub the faces with a stiff two-sided brush and remove any semblance of dirt (the one with stiff black bristles and the gold wire bristles). Important- Never let the wire bristles ever touch your clubs, it will tear the finish right off. I then wipe down the shafts and the grips to remove sunscreen and sweat. It feels like each time I go out to play that I have brand new clubs, sans the unavoidable scratches and nicks from normal play. Like Dale said, keep them dry!

    Enjoy!

Congrats on the clubs, warm water & dish soap with a soft brush after the round is done.
Grips I do about every 10 rounds. I play the Golf Pride MCC4 Plus so being multi-compound i'll use a scotch brite pad on the cord portion only and soap & water on the rubber part.

Always dry them, rust is the enemy to golf clubs.

Enjoy your new set of clubs

Welcome to the team! You can get a brush and use some water, scrub out the grooves and wipe the club head off with a towel!
