Bushnell Tour V4 Shift Rangefinder 2019 model. Our carts have built-in GPS so I use that too for front, mid and back edge measurements if necessary. Usually the RF is all I need, but sometimes, out of laziness, usually when I'm just out practicing alone, I'll use the less accurate gps numbers. The GPS is also convenient when it's cart path only and I have to guess which clubs to bring with me to my ball on the other side of the fairway. It will give me a general idea of around what I should expect when I get to my ball, then I'll use the RF for the actual number.

Though the V4 Shift model is the "slope" model, honestly I hardly ever use that feature.

I have a Precision Pro NX7 non-slope. I snagged it for about $150. Very hard to beat for the price. If you want the slope, check out the Precision Pro or the new Shot Scope Pro L1.

I use the Blackjack from Pinned Golf. Had the pearl and upgraded recently. Sadly, snow has been on the ground for what seems like 6 months, so cannot test yet. The BJ has slope adjustment.

I use both, if I haven't played the course before. The GPS is good for blind shots and so you can see how the hole is shaped, landing areas, etc. for courses you don't know. But I like getting more precise yardages for approach shots.

In some instances, I will buy a yardage book from new courses, both serving as memories and course knowledge while playing. I do prefer my trusty bushnell over any GPS in the market.

I have and older model Bushnell Tour Z6 which is very small, has the jolt feature and is an awesome rangefinder. One of the best they ever made. I recently picked up the Pro XE and am very happy with it. I has the jolt and slope on it. I use the slope on our newly renovated course because of the new greens and short flags. The Bushnell line of rangefinders are excellent and hold up well. Both are waterproof and the batteries last about a year and I play golf three days every week and an occasional extra round or two during the month throughout the year. The V4 would be a good choice for your everyday needs at a reasonable price. The Pro XE runs over $500. With respect and it is all about choices.

I have the Bushnell Pro XE and the Garmin Z82. Between the two I like the Garmin Z82. The Garmin has a scorecard feature and also provides manual shot tracking which helps analyze your game after the round. The downside with the Garmin is the battery is not servicable and needs to be recharged. I wouldn't trust the unit for 36 holes (played 27 holes with no issues but battery was down to 15%). So, depending if I'm playing 18 or 36, I'll bring either the Garmin or the Bushnell; I play more 18 hole rounds than 36, so the Garmin gets the nod.
  8. Garmin g80 on route. Thanks for the feedback!
  9. Garmin S20 & Bushnell pro x2 nice to have both if you can.
  10. Try a Nikon VR (i.e., image stabilized) rangefinder if you can get your hands on one. You'll either hate it right away or you'll love it and never settle for a non-VR rangefinder again. I predict in a few years only the very cheapest low end rangefinders will be without some sort of vibration reduction/image stabilization capability.

I have a Bushnell V4 and it is super clear and works great. I also got a Caddytek V2 w/slope from Costco for $130. Not near as clear, but reasonably accurate from what I can tell. I haven't used it as much.

One of my co-workers offered to sell me his Bushnell v4 a while back. I liked it, but really liked the optics and heft of the Leupold GX3i, which has since been discontinued. I prefer the Leupold and will probably go back to the Bushnells once it dies.
