    Hi, I am about to exchange privately my custom fit 714 AP2's I received from Titleist in March 2015. I am looking to exchange them for a set of 718 AP3's. The serial number on the 6 iron of the AP3's is 3029200. Could anyone tell me from looking at the attached images and serial number listed whether the irons I'm interested in are authentic or counterfeit?

    best bet might be to call Titleist and confirm the serial #. I think they do that. You could confirm model and year off serial #.

    Thanks but I tried that and Titleist UK couldn't help as they said they didn't hold records for any length of time.

    If the serial number is only on the 6 iron they are stock built clubs.

    You can also use the product registration at the bottom of the website. I entered the serial number you provided and sadly, it doesn't appear as authenticate.

    I have a set of AP3's and the ones you share look pretty good. I did run the registration number through Titleist.com and this is what I got back:

    "We were unable to locate any club details associated with serial number 3029200. Please contact 1-888-TITLEIST for further assistance."

    You can always hope the serial number posted here is not accurate. ;-)

    Can you verify the pedigree of the irons’ history? If there isn’t a direct path being sold by an authorized dealer, the chances of a counterfeit goes up.

    One of the major resellers in the US went through their Scotty inventory and found a high % of fakes. At least they guarantee authentic stock.

    I feel your pain. I mistakenly ordered a set of used AP3 irons from eBay. They ended up as knock offsTried to get a refund front the seller but was basically told tough luck. Reported it to eBay but got no help. Lesson learned.

    Recently purchased a second hand TS2 driver. I registered it here and was accepted. Does this mean it is definetly real and not fake?

    Registered it here and was accepted. "Was accepted". Registration number verified.

    No and registering just helps them track your warranty so a club as old as the TS2 would not be covered by warranty so no real reason to do it.
