I have two pairs of the FootJoy Tarlows (one white pair and one black pair). I absolutely love the look, but I seem to usually lose traction on my front (left) foot when I swing sometimes. I never had this problem when I wore the swoosh Roshe G Tour shoes, and those were one of my favorites! Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to help me gain better grip besides switching shoes. Like replace the spikes? This has happened ever since I got them and isn't because of wear in my opinion. I also don't have a violent or hard swing. Just curious on if there are any tricks to help me out, or even maybe other FootJoy shoes that have better traction?

    Thanks in advance!

Sam Sneed used to practice barefooted. If your foot is regularly slipping in any brand of spiked shoe, its probably not an issue of the shoe. Probably not what you wanted to hear but...

True. But like I mentioned, I had not ever had an issue with the swoosh Roshe G Tour shoes I used to play with.

Check tension of spikes or replace if worn!

It's not uncommon for the front foot to move in the follow-through if you are ending up on your left heel (as a right handed golfer) at the finish (which is normal). Look at Jordan Spieth's finish. His left foot rolls hard on the heel. I have seen many others who literally move the foot due to the momentum of their swing, from one position partially flared at set up, to another that is pointing more at the target. For some it's just a pivot on the heel, for others the whole foot jumps and turns further left, Would need to see your swing to determine the cause of your slippage, but I am guessing this is a swing issue (not necessarily bad), not a spike issue.

BTW, I love my Premieres. I have three different pairs. I have been known to let my left foot jump and turn left when I really get through the ball well. It allows the hips to turn further without too much tension on them. Works well for some of us older players.

If you are concerned that the spikes are your issue, the stock spikes that come with those Premiere spiked shoes are Softspikes Pulsar Low Profile Cleats Fast Twist 3.0. You might check with you local retailers to see if they carry the other two models in the Fast Twist 3.0. The Pivix and the Silver Tornado. In looking at the Softspikes site the cleats appear to be a little thicker and could possibly provide more grip. I tried a number of cleats until I found one I liked. Good luck. =)
