All the carry bag rain covers have transitioned away from the fitted top with a zipper to the larger, looser, covers with the pull over Velcro latch. I too was a bit skeptical at first until I used it a few times in the rain and found it was easier to handle taking clubs out while not opening entirely to the rain. I like the newer version. Using it to keep the clubs positioned in a travel case is not as good now so I just rely on wrapping a towel around them for travel and keep the cover in the pocket until it rains. Hope you continue to enjoy your new bag. BTW, you can remove the plastic sleeves off the legs. They are just for scratch protection when it was shipped. Cheers!
