  1. Anyone else have issues with Titleist Golf Gloves not lasting. I recently bought 2, the first one lasted about 2 rounds and the second glove I just pulled out of the package new today and lasted about 5 shots before it tore a hole in the palm. I usually play footjoy, which last longer, but not great. This is the second time now a Titleist glove as torn within the first round of play.

Some gloves do not last as long because they do not fit properly. If they are to big they can tear in the palm. Titleist gloves are thinner than FJ gloves. Have you taken them back to the shop with your receipt where you purchased them? Have you contacted Titleist customer service. Titleist gloves last longer than your experience when properly fitted. You did say which glove you were having issues with.

It's not the glove. It's your grip. The hole in the palm area is caused by friction. Most likely the end of the club is slightly shifting position in your grip during the swing.

I do glove fittings for FJ and here is a site that I refer our customers to that are having issues with our gloves. Also helps explain the importance of a proper fitting glove. Do not know if this is your issue but might help.

Mine don't last long enough to tear. After I hit a ball over into a yard, I sign my glove and attach it to the fence. It seems to work for Jordan Spieth when he hits spectators so I thought it would bring me some luck.

That's a great gesture Dale, but if I read that correct, I am gonna have to start buying gloves by the caseload. Does Titleist offer a discount if you buy by the case???

It would be good for Acushnet stock prices. Those who watch me attempt to play know I actually play without a glove unless it is very cold or rainy. I break out the Titleist gloves below 60 degree days and have FootJoy rain gloves for those wet days. Those Titleist gloves that occasionally get worn show very little scuffing or wear on the leather. I think proper fitting gloves and correct hand position is the key.

I use the Titleist Players glove exclusively for years and have never really noticed a problem. Certainly not tearing in the first round.
  9. I play without wearing a glove and the contributing factor for this was I started playing golf in the UK which was wet and miserable and I got used to playing without wearing one ... so when I took up golf again I just played without

I use the players glove and I usually get a few months out of one. I trend to grip the club too tight and wear a spot on the thumb and a spot on the palm. I've got 5 rounds and 3 trips to Topgolf on this glove so far. Still good for a while. I'm hard on any brand of glove due to my grip. Never have I tore one. I just get a new one once the 2 spots get thin.
  11. I use the Players glove with no problems. My son was using the Perma Soft glove and ripped two brand new gloves putting them on, he's since went with Dri Tac grips and don't use a glove anymore. And yes he knows how to put a glove on, he's been it for 33 years

Sounds like maybe your glove isn’t fitted properly. But maybe it is and your grip/swing cause a lot of extra friction which is causing the issue. If that’s the case, you can look into wearing rain gloves. I can wear the same rain glove all season long with no issues. They’re also great if your hands sweat a lot or you play somewhere very humid.

The Titleist players glove is the only glove I wear. I've never had an issue. If you're tearing a glove after 5 shots and/or 2 rounds, sorry to say it's probably your grip and not the glove.

I tend to grip the club a little bit stronger than the average person. This leads me to the same issue as Chris. I try and switch gloves a lot in the summer. I will change my glove on the turn to save the first glove from getting so beat up.

When Titleist had fittings and Specials at Pinehurst, I took advantage and went to the Padgett fitting center. The very fist thing my PGA fitter said was "your grip is causing the tear in your glove". He showed me what I was doing wrong and was so happy that after I played two rounds with one new glove you could see the improvement I went back to show him and thank him. Also, after ten rounds I make this my practice glove and put a new one in play.

I have had issues tearing the palms of my gloves, for me it always was a glove the fit to small. Switching up a size has cured me of the issue.

I have noticed proper fit affects premature wear along with good care after the round. I've done better to air out the glove and then store it back in the sleeve or in a case. This has helped a ton keeping them in better shape and lasting longer

I have never had any issues with Titleist Gloves. I exclusively wear the Perma-soft glove and last numerous rounds. Once worn and dirty go to the range sessions.
  19. I was tearing my titleist gloves in the palm then a small grip adjustment and my titleist gloves last multiple round. I use cheap footjoys for practice.

Definitely air them out during and after a round.

Sounds to me that it's your grip and club is moving in your hand

Most people do not wear a properly fit golf glove which causes excess wear. Especially in the thumb and palm. Titleist and FJ golfs are packaged with the strap showing a quarter of an inch showing on the glove. When I fit folks for gloves at events that is what we recommend. Both brands will stretch after about three rounds and when purchasing you should get one that is tight and leaves at least a quarter inch showing when you strap it on. I see way too many people wearing the wrong sizes and complaining about the wear. Titleist and FJ gloves differ in the thickness of the leather. Titleist is thinner. I wear the FJ premium gloves because of them lasting a bit longer. They both are great gloves and a matter of choice. I wear a glove of 18 holes and want one that is a bit thicker.
