I know that there are many factors that contribute to spin rates and loft angles, but I need some general advice...
I just picked up a set of 714 AP2s with Project X 6.0 shafts and they are the greatness. I can work the ball more than ever before. I have always been a high-spin player with a steep angle of attack. When I was fitted they told me that the heavier shaft and lower kick would help reduce both my spin rates and launch angles which are much higher than they should be (6 iron 25+ degrees). I hit the ball straight, but with the high spin and high launch angle still not solved for I feel like my carry distances are really suffering.
Any ideas on how to correct? What I'm looking for is a "target" spin and launch rates based on the the AP2 lofts. I thought about delofting the irons 2 degrees to match the lofts of my old set and get the old distances, but then I read that it can mess with the bounce if you mess with the loft so I'd like to see if its something I can fix before I try and screw up these beautiful clubs :)
Thanks in advance.
