How to win high school state?

    I am getting ready to prepare for state and need some tips to get ready to win it. This will be the first year that I will be at state and I am ready to win for the first time. There is a lot of pressure on me just because I am the youngest and one of the best on team. I played good in sectionals and sub-state, so I hope to play well. Please help.

    Padraic,

    First of all congratulations in making it to state and having a good season thus far.  As someone who played in a few state championships during my high school golfing days, as well competed on and in several junior tours/events, and amateur events there is really no single great answer to tell you how to win your state tournament.  You have to take every shot seriously, and play the course 1 shot at a time.  Try and stay within yourself, and what you do well.  Try not to think about what the other guys are doing, and just play your game.  Most importantly HAVE FUN, enjoy the event, and stay relaxed.   Remember, in the great scheme of life golf is but just a game... although a great one! Best of luck, hit it well, and keep your head up/stay positive at all times even when the breaks arent going your way!
