Any advise would be greatly appreciated.  Lately I've been hitting hard pulls or hooking my drives.  Why can't I hit it just above the center where the sweet spot is....am I folding my arms during impact???!!!! As for my grip, I can see two and a half knuckles on my left hand and my right hand to the side, not underneath. so why!!!! help please...

Been there done that. For me when I hit the ball like you have described I am swinging way to hard and I am swinging with my club face slightly closed and the swing path a little to left of center or slightly outside to in. The fix: Make sure face is square or even slightly open and swing out to right field instead of center or right down the target line. It might even help to address the ball with a slightly closed stance. This should start the ball to the right and bring it back to the target line with a nice draw. Also go buy some Dr. Schoals foot powder spray and hose down your club face. The powder will show you exactly where your ball impact is on the club face and it rubs easily off with a towel.

Grab some foot powder spray, coat the driver, and work on finding the center of the clubface. It'll take some work and you may have to swing a little easier, but just work on moving the impact location and progress from there. I had a similar problem (low and out the heel). I did exactly what I just told you and although I still find the heel on occasion I find the middle a lot more often.

You know what, I think this is great advice "Richard H", I never would have thought of this. What about a little bit of talcum powder, would that damage a club face?

    Hello 808 Hacker,

No 1: VIDEO TAPE YOUR SWING TO SEE WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE AND WHAT YOUR BODY IS DOING .

What I have found is that hooks are the result of hand rotation through the swing, too much and shutting down the face of the club.

when you have checked the basics ,Grip, stance, alignment, posture,Relax your shoulders and rotate the shoulders and let the hips follow.

But the key is to pause at the top of the backswing and let it finish,a lot of people dont let the club finish the backswing before they start the downswing.

Dont be tied up with the thought, that if I do that I will loose lag in my swing ,lag will happen on automatic ,it's not a feeling, you need to feel that you have finished the backswing so as not to create tension in the body for the downswing

If you dont let it finish you will instantly feel that tension in your body (arms & shoulders) on the downswing and it won't feel like a smooth transition from backswing to downswing.

Flexibility in the trunk or what they call trunk rotation will help.

If you have the thought of hitting the ball hard to knock the cover off it or hit it a long way you will FAIL .

That thought enters the mind at the top of the backswing ,so remember its rhythm & timing that will give you good contact & good contact will give you good distance.

    Hope this is understandable.

RELAXE THE SWING,"FEEL THE FORCE LUKE" !!!

    "WORK FOR YOU IT WILL"!!

  6. I hope you've got this fixed, have you tried teeing the ball up higher and placing a little more weight into your trail side, this can get the flight up.

Hi, I have had the exact same problem before with my driver, I had a very flat swing and all my misses were left. Try videoing your swing to see if anything stands out, if not visit your pro as they can help.play well- Joe p
