Do you think about your swing as being on one plane or two? (i.e. the backswing and downswing are on the same plane or in different planes) For me, it is two planes. The purpose of my backswing is to set me up for a good position on my downswing, and the purpose of my downswing is to set me up at impact. Making this realization helped me in my practice and also helped me with my takeaway.

I don't think Chris. It only impairs my brain.

I am always focused on tempo and smoothness. When tempo is on, my swing hits on the keys. If I had to identify myself, I have a one plane swing, but again this is no big deal to me.

    Hi Chris,

    Very interesting topic.

During practice, it is one of the things that I am constantly working on. My coach and I have been working on the smooth takeaway (plane one) and then the transition to the downswing and impact (plane two).

I'm working very much on trying to consistently have my downswing come into the ball with an "inside to out" swing path. Of course, part of my challenge is having that swing path not be too extreme and to maintain good rhythm and tempo.

Have to agree with Dino J.

Hi Chris. for years I fought a slice." coming over the top". So how I fix it is that I made my self fill like I was going outside at back swing and it forced me to down swing inside. So yah two plane for me. But on video I don't look I do that? I just fill or think I do. What ever gets it done right.
