  1. So, I was on the range recently, and many of you may already know this trick however it was new to me, and I was trying to check for consistency of my impact point of the face of my driver. A friend pulled out of his bag a small aerosol can of Dr. Schols Foot Spray Powder and we sprayed it on the face of the driver lightly...hit a few balls and I could see exactly where my contact point was on each shot...when I was finished I just wiped it off with my towel.

Perfect way to get some feedback...

Just wanted to share it with everyone in case someone had not heard of it...definitely better than the old impact tape etc...

Hey Chris, I have heard of that before but never actually tried it.. I can sometime see the ball mark after impact but not all the time. I may give that a shot though.. I think it's a great tool/idea to improve the impact..

I have found that the black face on my D2 gives me great feedback on almost every swing. Just wipe it after every shot, and look for the dimple pattern after you hit it off the tee :)

Great tip and thanks for sharing it. Hitting the sweet spot is definitely and good thing to become more consistent with.

Great tip. The pro used that in my last lesson and it also works for irons.

Doesn't work well on black club faces, but dry eraser board markers also work on bright metal. Just allow to dry so the ball doesn't absorb the color. ...Unless it is a range ball...

My coach uses chalk ... coloured chalk like the ones in kids sidewalk chalk. I use a light blue and it shows up well on my 915D2. And, it is smaller than an aerosol can.

Hey Chris. I use this trick all the time. I love it because it really allows me to identify the different sounds that are made on different parts of the face which helps me on the course. Unfortunately, I've had trouble finding the Dr. Schols brand lately and the knock-off stuff just doesn't work as good.

Funny how large the impact spots are on the face. Just goes to show how much the ball actually compresses at impact.
