We're approaching the 3rd month of the year. Does anyone need a do-over/restart on their resolutions for the New Year for improving during the off-season? Some of you are near the start of your season. Here as the season moves from Winter to Still Winter, we still have 4-6 weeks to continue preparing for our start. I'm still keeping mine, but it's been really a long time from being on course in November.

My whole off season was to get legs and core in better shape and work on balance through the swing....Going well but won't know for sure the impact off the tee for a few more weeks. Best of luck k to you this upcoming season!
  3. I'm with Joshua, I've been exercising everyday, focusing on my core and lower body, increasing flexibility and range of motion. I picked up a coach who I see monthly or I should say he took me on. And when it's more than 41 degrees out I'm hitting balls outside now. My resolution is to compete this year. I've got my forms filled out for my season pass and men's club and my schedule ready for my state events. I've been working on my short game inside putting on a surface that rates 8.5-9.5 with or against the grain and chipping from bad/tight lies. I need to practice mental pressure. Something I find hard to simulate. Even by creating games where every swing counts. When the course opens I'm going to try to be paired with random people as much as possible so that pressure is there. So I guess the short answer is no. My resolutions have stayed the same. And the long answer is above.

I too have been working with a strength coach all winter with focus on strengthening my core. My resolution was to spend more time working on my short game. Everything started off as planned however, around the middle of January it seems like it has rained almost everyday since. In fact, we are less than one half an inch from setting a record for the amount of rainfall in February. I live in Portland Oregon. I hope things turnaround soon. I have been itching to get out and practice around the greens.

I'm good, I am still going to lessons. I have yet to play a round of golf & try out my swing with what has been changed. But I do have plans on playing later this week for the first time. We'll see how it goes and if I need to re-think my 2017 agenda. Lol

Like everyone above, I've been working on my lower body and core (although legs much more than core). I've also been putting every day indoors with my mat and mirror to line everything up and make it natural. Really excited to get out to the range once "still winter" passes. My hope is the work I've put in on conditioning and putting will ease the transition into the competitive season.
