What Irons do you have? I would think a loft issue. If they are forged, over time lofts need to be checked.

I have 716 ap2 with the white label dgs300 shafts.

Have you had the lofts checked on the clubs lately. Over time the degrees will vary due to play and this can affect the difference in distances. I have calibrated at least once a year.

I wonder did you find you had to adjust the loft of your irons?

I did my 9 was almost a full 2° weak had a gap of almost 6° from my 8

Easy fix, recommend doing this at least once a year, if you play a lot.

Get an apt with a fitter, they should be able to help with any adjustments needed to close those gaps

You need to have your lie angles and lofts checked by a reputable club fitter. As long as you have the same shaft in every iron, then the shaft should not be the problem. I bet loft is your issue. Gaps of three degrees in the long irons and four degrees in the middle and short irons. Also, check the manufacturer’s factory specifications. I usually try to keep my lofts at the original factory specs.

I struggle with the same issue at times and it drives me up the wall. I think a lot has to do with the choice of clubs (mine are CBs and I really notice a loss of distance on days when I can't hit the sweet spot.

A couple years ago, it was my 8i that was the odd one and I worked on setting up alignment sticks while practicing with that club to make sure I hit the sweet spot.

This past year, it was my 9i, just like you and in fact, it was driving me so up the wall that I just started whacking the ball ov er and over and doing everything I could to make the ball go the right distance. I was being so aggressive over and over and sliding over and over that I tore my meniscus and fell to the ground. Still not better, but just saying I feel your pain... literally!

Anyway, first off, I'd say make sure you're hitting the sweet spot. Use some Dr. Scholls or some beige painters tape for an easy inexpensive way to see where you are making contact.

I was playing 695 MBs and something just felt odd. I prefer blades, but even on well hit shots I was a few yards short in distance. I took out my 695 CBs ,with Tour Issued Stiff shafts. I checked the factory specs on the Titleist site and discovered the CBs were made 2 degrees stronger. My 714 MBs are also stronger lofts and my distances were more accurate. Fixed the problem so the blades are in my bag.

I am assuming the shafts are consistent thru your set..... So I would get the loft bent down 2 degrees.... assuming they are forged clubs..... If they are cast do not try to bend too mush risk it will break...

When getting clubs bent, please take them to a certified Titleist dealer who knows the tolerances and can get you gapped correctly. I NEVER attempt to do any bending on my own. If you let the professionals do their job and they snap the club, then they will replace it. The small amount they charge more than compensates for your potential mistakes.

GOOD TO KNOW YOU DISCOVERED THE LOFTS WERE OUT THROUGH THE FITTING. WILL KEEP THIS IN MIND FOR WHEN MY CLUBS GET OLDER.
