  1. I'm not the best putter in the world and was wondering if you guys can help me with some tips to help my putting get a little better. I tend to leave a lot of my putts short or hit them too long and it is really frustrating. So do you guys have any tips for putting?

A tip I’ve used for a while and came from Graeme McDowell is look at the hole whilst making your practice strokes. This takes the emphasis away from being too technical and onto feel in my opinion. This simple drill has made a massive difference to my putting averages

I find that by lining the ball up on the heel I hit the ball more in the middle of the face. Additionally I ensure that I do not stand to far from the ball and that I do not over grip the putter. You know, so that you can obtain that easy pendulum swing with the putter. An older gentleman I use to play with many years ago, told me bend over gently and to hold a penny on my forehead and to let it drop on the ground. Where it lands is where my ball should be lined up. Yes, he was an outstanding putter. One of the old school golfers that played up and down the east coast with the likes of Sam Snead and Ben Hogan.... one heck of a short game and someone I listened to.....

Think of the putting stroke as a pendulum; the backstroke should be the same length and cadence as the forward stroke.

If you putt on fast greens, hit the putt off the toe on downhill putts; you'll get less roll out and have a shorter putt coming back.

Play less break on slow greens, more break on fast greens.

Don't second guess ; pick a line, believe in your self and go.
