My right shoulder

  1. Played Saturday with a couple guys who are a whole lot better than me. One is multiple time club champion and I am a 20 handicap. On one of my tee shots which was probably my best for the day, he said I really got through the ball. He said my swing seems to stop right as I get to the ball but that time I got through it. So for the next few shots I tried to make sure I got through it and wound up just turning and pulling everything way left. I asked him about it after the round and he said I need to get my right shoulder to continue through the shop instead of stopping. This is probably why I flip my wrists so bad I guess. Any tips or drills to help me with this? Thanks

Try holding a shaft across your chest , with your arms crossed touching the opposite shoulder and rotate your torso , that might help ‍♂️

Focus more on turning your hips through the shot. Your shoulders are more visible, but it's the hips that turn your body.
By focusing on your shoulders, you're over-rotating resulting in the pull (assuming your right handed).

Good point, Corey. I agree. Hips first. Shoulders follow without much thought. If shoulder turn is too dominant without enough hip turn through the ball, an outside-in pull is quite likely. A pull draw if the face happens to be closed at impact and a fade/slice if not.
  5. One thing that helps me gauge my hip turn, while I'm at the range I'll take one of my alignment sticks and slip it thru my front two belt loops. Good way to gauge it until you get the feel for it.
