Does anyone have any swing tips/thoughts that may help? I wouldn't say I have a low swing speed, as my driver swing speed is about 90MPH and has about 230 yr carry distance. I also wouldn't say my ball flight is stinger low, but it is lower than most. For example my PW may fly at about the height most people's 7-8 iron would. I have gotten decent results from moving ball position way forward (inside front heal with 9 iron) but this of course is kind of impractical. This low ball flight is present with almost all of my clubs from 3W to 60°. Anything would help, thanks!

We could give you a bunch of "guesses" but without really seeing your swing, might mess you up more with our tips. Suggest you lock in with a professional you like and trust and take the steps to get where you want. There are many high and low ball flight professional golfers that are still successful playing their natural ball flights. If you are holding greens, maybe you don't change anything. I think I have posted several time on the forum that I too, am a low-ball hitter. I used to play a weak slice with a home-grown swing. My pro got me into a strong grip and so now my miss is a clubface too shut with too much forward shaft lean. If I fail to get the club laid off and bring it in shallow, the result is a low pull draw. Best of luck with your swing change. Hit'm straight and stay safe.

If the low ball is working okay you might not want to mess with it. There is probably a high ball player that's jealous of your penetrating bullets and wishes he could lower his flight!

Hunter, in his reply, Dale said two things that you should really think about. The first is to see a professional and let him/her take a look to try and get you where you need to be. The second is holding greens. If you're holding greens, why change?

I would add, your swing may produce a low ball flight naturally, and hitting GIR is more than half the battle.

    Best of luck.

Hunter, your best bet is to listen to the 3 guys above and have an analysis/lesson with a good PGA pro, known for good teaching. NOT just the local Asst. pro, unless he is known for his ability to teach. If you can't do that the only other thing I can suggest is what worked for me. I've been a low single digit handicap for 30 years. Many times asI got older I struggled to with lower than desired ball flight, certainly as Lee Trevino used to say as you move from the flat belly crowd to the round belly crowd. I moved my swing to be more upright and smother, not trying to hit it as hard, consequently making more consistent contact and higher ball flight. Something a pro told me to work on many many years ago, and that worked back in the day before I started to get flatter.

I'll echo the comments of the others about seeing your local pro. Also, what ball do you play? If you're an AVX or Pro V1 kind of player, maybe try the Pro V1x to see a little more height.

Lot of good seasoned advice here from the others and I agree with them.

Think there is a PGA pro waiting to help your cause. Got for it......
  9. I read a lot of Titleist literature, watch a lot of reviews on Titleist, and I honestly think your solution is the new T series, and a fitting ot a Titielst thursday fitting. Pop onto youtube, and watch some of the reviews on the t series, especially the t200 and the t300, as well as the TS1. Not only will they improve your game, give you more yardage, but I bet it will fix your ball flight instantly!

Everyone that hits it low wants to hit it higher and everyone that hits it high wants to hit it lower. Its a tale as old as time. Make sure you got the right equipment, and make sure you got the fundamentals on lock such as ball position, grip and all that. You can definitely change your ball flight if you find the right combination

I was a former low ball hitter - like lower than normal.

Nothing will replace some good instruction as everyone's 'fault's' are different. Also - don't be afraid to experiment while at the range.

But what really helped me = the concept of hands leading at impact must have influenced a stronger than required shaft lean (at setup), I'd say I was delofting my clubs way too much by the time I got to impact. Plus I had a strong grip. Now I trust that I will have adequate shaft lean at impact naturally.

During my setup, one of my first moves is to set the clubface square behind the ball...THEN, keep the shaft straight up and down (no noticeable shaft lean)...THEN take my grip. This really helped my grip become more neutral and I ended up getting more height to my shots. But, your results may differ...

Something that you should consider is where you are playing. If you play in a links golf course where wind may be a factor, being a able to shape the ball and having a low ball flight is what is desired. Having said that, when I bought my AP3s in 2017, I saw a dramatic change in my ball flight; not only did I gain height and distance but also I reduced dispersion.
This year I am looking forward to being fitted and purchasing one of the T-series irons.

First and foremost, as above, you need to start with a qualified instructor to make sure the archer has the best setup. After that, that person can look at your bows and arrows (clubs/shafts and ball) to see if they can be optimized. If you buy off the rack then your equipment will likely be sub-optimal for your game.
  14. Never thought of it that way. Any other recommendations?
