Over the past couple years I have started using my Scorecard Holder and Yardage Books when playing rounds. For courses I already know I don't use a yardage book and rely on my range finder and golf gps watch (Garmin S62). For course I am not familiar with I will purchase a yardage book (if available) in the pro shop and use my watch. I also keep a couple note cards in the book which show my club yardages, wedge matrix for all my wedges (pocket, 1/2, 3/4 and full swings) and yardage calculations to account for wind & elevations. I'm curious what other TT's members use to help them on the course or other notes they carry with them.

I am a fan of the yardage book, especially for courses that I have not played before. I prefer them and they're great mementos. I have a range finder as well for something that may not be noted in the book.

Unfortunately, a lot of courses don't have them, which is when the range finder comes in handy. I keep the scorecard in the yardage book holder... I have one in Masters Green from Bluegrass Fairways, and of course the Team Titleist one... now I just need to get one of the TT Scorecard holders!

I just just my ole faithful Bushnell Rangefinder Pro XE, find it to be very efficient on any course. When not playing in tournaments, the slope comes in handy on unfamiliar courses.
  4. I do a similar thing and carry a laminated card with my carry numbers and a wedge matrix. I am curious what your "yardage calculations to account for wind & elevations" looks like? Could you save more details?

My yardage calculation sheet is really for wind. For example, Down Wind 5 MPH = -2% TOT DISTANCE and Into Wind 10 MPH = +10% + 5 YDS.
I also have a club path card I use on rare occasions. It seems you can't load photos anymore so I can't share them. :-(
  6. Hello there! As an avid golfer, I can definitely relate to the importance of having reliable tools and resources on the course. Like you, I also love to carry a yardage book with me, as it helps me better visualize each hole and plan out my shots more strategically. In fact, I am so passionate about the benefits of using yardage books that I even wrote a book on the topic, sharing my tips and insights with fellow golfers who want to improve their game. It was so much info on the internet about this topic so I even use tools like fixgerald.com/plagiarism-checker-for-students to be sure that my text is unique. I also like to keep a few note cards with my club yardages and wind/elevation calculations, as it helps me stay focused and make more informed decisions while playing. It's always fascinating to hear about what other golfers use to enhance their game and keep track of their progress, so I look forward to seeing what other insights and tips TT's members have to share! Happy golfing!

This sounds awesome, it's not something I have done before but if I want to get to scratch, I should probably get after this. Right now I'm only tracking FIRs and GIRs. Thanks for the idea!

Hi GStuart. It is a helpful tool and helps me focus on the shot and not think about my swing. I track my stats to but one I don’t track is FIR. I track what I label as tee shots in play. If I hit a tee shot and it is in the fairway or just off the fairway but I still have a shot at the green so it wasn’t really a bad shot. That is a +1. If I hit a tee shot and it is in a fairway bunker or forces a recovery shot (not a shot where I can go for the green) then that is a -1.
