I am coming off of a recent labrum, rotator cuff, AC joint surgery and have noticed my swing is completely different now(limitations in movement and flexibility). Are there any tips/advise/exercises that can help me get my old swing back or do I need to try to form a completely new swing?

    Respectfully, Holden

Not sure how far you are from post surgery but I am four months after a full rotator repair and your swing will slowly come back to you when limitations and confidence come back each time you play I haven’t had to tweak anything in my swing. Hope that helps some
  3. Not really similar but I am well on the way from recovering from ACL and MCL surgery in my knee. Like yourself it completely changes the way you stand and balance weight. With a lot of physio and lessons with my coach we have changed things up to shorten back swing and a few other bits to make it work. as it heals im getting more and more movement in! Good Luck

I am now 7 months post Meniscus surgery. My swing has actually improved due to the "limited" mobility. It forced me to shorten my swing for balance which actually worked to my advantage. Go figure.

My suggestion is to slow everything down. It's like riding a bike...you'll get there

I have had 3 labrum surgeries from old baseball injuries and it did take awhile to come back from. I still don't have the stability in my shoulder especially when it's extended out awhile from my body. I would say take your time and do all the physical therapy you can. It's caused my swing to be a little flatter on the backswing but I have no pain swinging a golf club so I'll take it.

Sounds like our team titleist is falling apart. Guess it just shows that group is getting older and many have played sports and it is catching up with us. Congratulations to everyone who is recovering and getting back to playing golf. Same boat here. Maybe a dozen rounds since November last year. Hit range today and really felt good. Time to look at the new T350 irons and to get ready to the big event at the Annual Invitational in Scottsdale in Nov/Dec once my wife is healthier and she can drive and be less dependent from her knee replacement. Hakuna matata. Everyone speedy recoveries and take care. =)

My advice, give it a year and see how it feels. You may have been compensating for your bad shoulder before surgery. I was fitted for my old irons in 2014, and I had rotator cuff/labrum surgery plus a few extra stitches for the bicep on my right arm in 2016. Gave it a full 6 months to heal before starting full swings, and I had trouble getting my old swing back. My instructor noticed my swing had changed a bit so she recommended getting fit again in 2017. Came away with a different set of specs and much improved swing and rotation.

Join the club! I’m suffering from a broken tib in my left leg (all healed now) but then a month later decided to break my right tib/fib compound fracture. Rods and screws in both. Still can’t handle more than 9 holes as walking is tough. I too feel like I’ve “lost something”. No power, can’t use the ground the way I used to, and my distance is gone. Hopefully as I heal up more I get that back. Very frustrating and mishits are common. Just can’t get the feel back.

Take your time, I went through it a few years ago. I'm back, 10 mph slower, handicap close to the same. We don't heal like we used to, but we're still at it.
