During the off season I have a flat location where I will practice 5 - 10 - 15 foot putts with the goal of being able to put the ball where I am aiming. I am wondering if anyone else has some cool or creative putting drills they do indoors

When i practice indoors on a pure flat surface I usually work on my routine and try to engrain it and make it feel seamless and natural. I also make sure I know it like a step by step manual. Number 1- eyes over ball, Number 2- putter behind the ball right hand only, Number 3...etc,etc. Beyond that as long as the ball keeps going in the hole, I try to not make any changes. When the ball inevitably stops going in the hole i go back and make sure i haven't deviated from my routine or technique and if that fails I put down a 12" flat metal ruler and start rolling the ball down the ruler and see if my mechanics or alignment need tweaking.

maybe a visit with an instructor who knows how to interpret SAM Lab results, then practice to improve the weaknesses noted? I had a second visit with my PGA instructor (first visit was in 2018) to see where I was as I have a different tendency than I had corrected from my first visit. Something to work on for the winter and early spring!

I've used commercial carpet over a concrete floor and believe me, that helps with getting used to speedy greens. I will putt to a tee or something small so that when I do putt to a real cup, it looks gigantic. I've also made a gate so that I have to putt between two objects without striking one. This has helped me immensly.

I always practice from loooooooooong distances, working my way to shorter distances (say six feet)....helps me build a good tempo and gives me a feel of the greens........how I practice and how I warm up when I play......
  6. I set 4 highlighters standing up on the ground in a square with only a quarter inch of space in between the top and bottom of the putter head. I like to practice the putting stroke in between those highlighters. Don’t even need a ball. It helps me keep my putt very steady because if not you’ll knock those highlighters down. Then set up more highlighters for longer distance putts.

6 footers are my nemesis. Practice these anywhere I have a flat surface just to get a feel for speed. Hardwood, carpet, shag, etc...

I put a 9' putting mat on my Christmas list this year and Santa delivered. I have it set up in my basement on the carpet, which slows it down quite a bit as compared to being set up on concrete. My plan is to move it to the garage once the snowy weather calms down so that I can set it up behind my net and mat. For now, I try to bang out 10 putts from 3', 6', 9' and then 12'. My 14 year old has taken an interest to "trying to beat Dad" - he got me last week after a heated back and forth. Rest assured I won't let it happen again.

I use my putting mat and work on the 6 - 10 footers. Really focus on posture, tempo. I was given a very helpful hint to keep in mind the "donut" hole. So I work on sending the ball into the hole with a little pace.
