I have a future X putter and I need to replace the grip. I ordered a new one from the Scotty website but I’m worried I won’t get it lined up properly. Can anyone share any tips or recommendations?

    I just eyeball it.

If you use plenty of solvent, you should be able to adjust it a little bit for the first few minutes before it dries. That gives you the opportunity to look at it from all angles and twist where needed. You mainly want to make sure you don't have the toe lined up too open or shut. You will do fine... and will probably always do your own from that day forward.

Use a ruler or a wall level and make adjustment asap before glue settles.

I have an alignment tool on my regripping station but like Mark said, I mostly eyeball it. Once you get it in the vice, really work to get it aligned how you think you want it and then take it from there. While it's still wet after the new grip is on, you can work with it a bit and get it perfect.

You can check the face angle with a square with the shaft clamped in a vice and then place a piece of masking tape on the shaft below the installed grip level, with a mark to show the center position to ensure the grip is square to the face.

A little time consuming, but works well when performed correctly.

Before you remove the old grip put a dab of nail polish on the shaft and line up the new grip to it.
