  1. I just purchased a new Scotty putter and love it, problem is it came with a stock factory thin grip, I played a thicker grip in my old putter should I consider changing the grip? It feels like I’m strangling the new putter either the thinner grip

You need to do whatever is comfortable. I always swap my Scotty grips out for a thicker, more solid feel. I was never a big can of the pistolini grips. Putting is all about confidence. If it doesn't feel right in your hands, you brain is going to mess with you.

Personally, I have never cared for the SC grips and once I purchased a putter, immediately changed to the GolfPride Tour SNSR 104, midsize and soft to the grip. They also make a 140 if you want something larger. I am a big fan of GolfPride grips which are on all my Titleist clubs.
  4. You should do whatever you feel most comfortable with...I see many people with SC Putters non-SC grips...

    Cheers!

when you can find the medium Custom Shop grips in the Scotty store, you need to act fast. Otherwise, I started using the SS Flatso 1.0. However, like what has already been said, use what you find most comfortable and you'll start holing more putts!!!
  7. What’s the advantage of the big grips I see on tour? I’ve always been happy with the standard SC grip.

Just put the grip of your choice on the Scotty and enjoy.
  9. I have two Select Del Mar putters. One has stock grip other has SuperStroke grip. According to Sam Labs data, my path is better with the thin grip. Decided to trust the data and “retire” the SuperStroke version (along with several other different putters) and believe I have the best setup for me. Couldn’t hurt to measure…

Do whatever feels best for you. I changed mine to a bigger grip and love it!

Again, to reiterate what everyone is saying, go with whatever feels comfortable to you. Doesn't matter if you have a good stroke, if you don't first feel comfortable and confident standing over the putt, you'll be struggling. I know club fitting has its pros and cons, but getting fit for a putter with something like the SAM technology can really benefit in selecting putter and grips. I've played collegiately and stayed close to scratch for a while, but never got an in-depth putter fitting until this year. I was surprised on how much it helped my putting.

You can get a thicker Matador grip from the Scotty Custom Shop. Just have to send it in for a customization order. Call them and confirm the medium / large are available.
  13. I’ve just swapped my pistolero plus grip(standard) on my super select 2plus, for a Superstroke pistol 2.0. Problem I’ve had is it’s made my putter sound very very “clicky” any way around this? Or is it as the original grip was a rubber material and was dampening the sound/vibration?

I like the SuperStroke XL 2.0, I currently have a PXG SS XL 2.0 on my Phantom 5.5 because I wanted an all black grip and that was the only way to pull it off.
