Happy new year, everyone! Have any of you had the opportunity to give the new WHS a try? I've got three rounds in already this year, and am finally able to post the scores in GHIN, either on the App or the website. I had to reload all of the people I had listed as "friends" in the old system in order to get their indices for our regular play, which took a while.

So far, I'm pleased with the new GHIN App, with a couple of exceptions. First, I don't see a way to quickly change the list of golfers for a given round, to add/subtract people as I move from one course to another. Second, and perhaps more confusing, is the new Course Handicap calculator. To give an example, today I have an 8.6 index. As I enter normal courses that I play frequently, I see some rather odd, to me anyway, results. One of the courses I play has three tees from which I play depending on the group: Blue at 72.1/127; Yellow at 69.4/122; and Red at 66.1/108. When I ask for my course handicap for each set of tees, this is what comes up (in the same order): 10, 7, and 2(!!!!). For another course, the Blue tees (72.8/127) come up also as 10; the Forest tees (70.3/120) come up as 7; but the Silver tees (68.1/116) come up as 7 also. Yet another course is similar to the results for the second one: Blue (72.0/135 - 10; White (69.9/125 - 8); and Silver (66.7/117 - 8). Up until the change, I would have expected 10 or 11, 9 or 10, and either 8 or 9 for each of these tees at each course. Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone have an explanation? I also use both The Grint and GolfLogix to record scores. I've not seen that either of these yet has the same course handicap results.

Have a great golf year, TeamTitleist.

The interesting thing about the new handicap system is how its going to be handled for say a 3 day member guest type event. If the players handicaps can change every day, how will the PGA professionals handle it being they do so much work in advance such as setting up the matches and the dot work on the cards for people getting strokes. Theres going to have to be a cut off on the handicap being used. Interesting

The 2 makes a ton of sense if its rated 66.1/108 and its a par 71 or par 72. The new WHS is taking into account relation to par in its "pops" now.

I've glanced after seeing your post and it looks like the courses I play with my handicap shows okay. Although I've only posted one round. Hope that gets fixed for you soon.

On another note, I was adding a buddy of mine using the "Golfer Lookup" - his name did not show so I couldn't add him. To make the long story short, he gave me his GHIN # and it works that way. It was odd because he's the only one in my group that didn't show up.

The look and interaction with the app is pretty different... My index changed from a 7.6 to a 7.8 so not too different. I like the change, but it definitely takes more thought to see what you need to post. Your good scores will count more with it being your best 8 instead of your best 10 so if you have a really good score one day, you will drop quickly, I'd imagine. I like how it changes daily too. pulplvr that's strange about your course handicap info. I just checked and mine works correctly.

Does anybody know how to activate the Weather element when posting on the APP.
My index jumped up from 4.1 to 5.0 without even posting...

The 'playing conditions calculation' is made automatically by the GHIN software based on the scores submitted for the day. If you want the details look at Section 5.6 in the Rules of Handicapping.

I received a message from TxGhin that they are aware of anomaly and and trying to address the issue.

The weather element is supposedly built in , if everyone who posts that day at your club shoots higher scores than normal this system recognizes that something occurred to make the course play harder than the rating assigned to it .
