  1. Do you use a ball marker just to mark the ball or does it also help you to line up the putt?

I mainly just use them to mark and clean the ball and aim the line on my ball to the hole or break of the putt.

I think vokey have the best markers for lining up putts perfectly if that's your thing.

I might give it a go to see if it helps.

1 Dot by the number on the ball & never use an alignment mark or stamp for putting. It distracts me & it never looks aligned properly with my putting line.
  3. Since I don't know how to read greens very well, I don't line up anything when I putt. I can generally figure which way a putt will break but not how much. So usually I use a round marker thing from my divot repair tool to mark the ball before I clean it. Then when I put the ball back down I will aim the Titleist script in the general direction the putt should start and then square the putter face the the script.

Never line it up, play it how it is or place it by the marker any way.

Aligning complicates something that should be simple, you're aligning it from behind yet playing over the top and to the side which is a different perspective over how it was originally aligned.

Use the arrows on the ball to line up and the marker just for marking the ball

Don't like to use any alignment aids when putting. For me, speed is more import than line anyway.

Guess a quarter or a round marker does not qualify. I rely on plumb bobbing and has worked for me for years.

I'm not one who uses my marker to aid in lining up a putt. Marks where the ball is only. I also don't use any markings on the ball to help. I see the pros doing it but when I try it the line takes all my concentration and I find myself distracted. Maybe I'm just weak-minded...

Always use a round marker, poker chip if away from other balls, 1" metal marker if in close. I use the ball arrows to aim.

I just use the arrows on the ball.

When standing over a putt all I like to see is plain white ball. Anything else is just a distraction.

I don't use any alignment aids either. Distracts me and I don't see the benefit (for me).

Alignment line already on the ball is what works for me
