  1. So it’s my birthday week and like so many of you, my plans have changed. My wife had planned for me a fitting for a new set of Titleist irons. But I’m determined to make the best out of the situation. I’ve mostly been putting and chipping in the apartment (short game is going to be on point!).

My question for you guys is how are you getting your golf fix in during this quarantine?

    Happy birthday!

Like you, I chip around the room as all golf courses here are closed. I also try to walk around the block, get back in the garage and swing a few clubs, then walk around the block again.

On weekends, I drive away to open fields- open spaces. I'm not far from the desert so it's an easy 20 minute drive. With me are my clubs, shagged balls, and a scope. It's perfect for target practice. There are also plenty of sand dunes where bunker shots could be practiced.

A couple of weekends ago, my wife rode along with me in a four by and we ventured in the west side. Woah!!! Much to our surprise, we ran into a poppy fields. Beautiful meadows and great scenery as the sun rays on and off through the patchy clouds as far as the eye could see.

Devin, happy birthday. Cool present, getting fit for new irons.good luck with whatever you choose. I was fortunate to get 3 rounds in before the shutdown. I'm also fortunate that i live about 100 yards from a golf course. I've taken a wedge and walked a couple holes in the evening, when no one is around. I also swing my orange whip training aid in my yard.

Happy birthday, Devin! My birthday is this week too (4/9). As of right now I’ve been lucky enough to continue playing. The only reason is because we're stationed overseas in Japan so I play on a military base course. But there’s been talk that the base is going to close the golf course soon. If that happens, I’m going to work on my short game and putting at the house. I’ve been practicing short game a lot lately as well and it’s paying off. Hopefully your work on those things will help your game when you can get back out there!
  8. Thank you guys for the birthday wishes; And happy birthday to you Alex! Aries babies rock!

You guys are awesome for sharing. Along with the short game gains, I’m loving the golf channel too! Also, I can’t stop watching the Instagram golf trick shots.

Can’t wait to see Team Titleist back on golf course after all this is over!

Happy Birthday ! Have many more.

Eastern Ohio is in play so I'm out every day weather permitting.
  10. I chip in the back yard and putt inside on a putt mat my wife got from work.
  11. I have a empty field behind the house that I hit shag balls out to, being able to actually hit some balls while we have had the first decent weather of the year has really helped me from going insane not being able to get out and enjoy the things I like to do.

Happy birthday, I'm sorry for the situation right now, I know how hard it is to celebrate, my sister's birthday is Friday the 10th, she is bummed out about it.
For now I'm slowly getting back with my little back yard set up.

Closed down here in the Peoples Republic of Mass. Surviving on putting on the carpet and watching re-runs of the Masters on Golf Channel. Sure glad Chairman Ridley and the Members of Augusta are allowing all the Masters films to be shown. Suffering real withdrawal in what was supposed to be Masters week. So far that's what's keeping me going and other Golf Channel movies and shows. Can only clean the clubs and bag so many times.

My clubs haven't been this clean since they came out of the box.
  15. Happy Birthday!

I've been putting all winter down in the basement when time permits. I should be pretty good with a slight left to right 9' putt!

My chipping mat just came in so I will now be outside swinging. I have a small basket net to chip into. I tried foam balls thinking they wouldn't fly far, but my 8 iron sent the first one into the neighbors yard (it was a beautiful shot).

Make the most of it and enjoy life.
  16. Happy birthday week mate...

Same as most I've made a makeshift hitting area in the garden and keeping up with my PT.

It was supposed to be a big one for me this year. I will become an adult (not :-) ) in my 40th year. big family holiday and golf holiday with pals 95% not gona happen. golf one end of sept so holding onto a little hope for that one.

    stay safe TT

Happy BD Devin. Military base courses were the first to close here, then the muni. Semi privates and privates still open. My wife talked to her mom in Memphis and they have closed the courses there, but golf is not as important to the economy as it is here in South Carolina. As most on here know I have not been able to play since December, so have not really missed it that much. Mind over matter. Will take a quick lesson when released by my neurosurgeon, doctor of physical therapy and when this pandemic lets us get back to having a life. I will be in much better shape physically and hopefully mentally and can get my game back on track and ready for our tournament season which starts in July. Hoping to play in at least five tournaments this fall. Gotta have a goal and at 73, glad to still be able to play a few tournaments each year. Enjoy the competition of tournament play. My favorite is match play but our course is closed and that will be cancelled this year.
