Sam Snead. I have met and watched Sam hit a golf ball at an exhibition in Mt Pleasant in his elder years and to see that fluid swing and to be able to call his shots from any distance. Some called him arrogant, I like to say his was very confident in his game, except when he got on the putting green. Sam did well as a pro. I used to play with a senior gentleman at Patriots Point, Whitey Whitesides, who was in his 80's, who had one of the best short games I have ever witnessed and could putt like knife thru butter. He used to gamble with Sam and those pros up and down the east coast and according to him beat them. Made a good living as a traveling salesman. He had the same disposition as Sam and was a gamer. Always wanted to play with him in our Tuesday blitz, others did not like playing with him. I learned a lot from him about short game.

I would have to go with Tiger. And that would be any part of his game.

I would choose to putt like Inbee Park. She's so solid and seemingly unflappable...

Freddy Couples. His ability to be cool and calm in any situation, yet produce the same exact smooth swing.
That is clutch if you can have the exact same swing for every situation and shot.

Seve Ballesteros was the most exciting player I've ever seen. He had every shot in the bag. I was at Westchester CC in 1987 when he lost in a playoff to JC Snead. He had the honor and on a 304 yard par 4, he tried to drive the green ( With a persimmon driver and a steel shaft ) and went left into a wooded area. Win or lose, he did it with style.

LOL...Unfortunately all I got his sense of gambling from wayward locations without the ability to pull them off. With my uncanny ability to miss a green on the short side but from beyond a bunker, I need a his flop shot for that.

Why just one?
Seve's vision and creativity is a super tempting trait.
Phil's short game is also a good one.
But for my lifetime, I have to go with Tiger's raw talent and ability to impose his will from the early 2000s

I would take Tiger’s iron game. He’s still the best right now. His distance control, his trajectory control and his ability to move it in both directions.

Johnny Miller's ball striking. Without him reminding me that he shot a 63 on Sunday to win the US Open.

Best long iron player ever. Could accurately hit 2 and 3 irons in an era when pros had them in the bag.
