I really enjoyed the tournament because I found it entertaining and thrilling; especially the back nine, however, I miss the crowds.

I would like to know if the others TT members enjoyed it as much as I did.

What could have been done better?

In order to make the experience more engaging (no crowds/patrons), they could start using drones to track shots. I like the 4D camera angle for the players' swings/shots, however, this is not something new.

I thought it was great and well covered. I appreciated watching the pros miss fairways and them trying to hit a good second to recover. That rough was no joke! I’m not really sure if they could have done anything much better. Sometimes I think keeping things simple because it works is best. If they start trying to do other tricky things to cover the tournament they’re going to start making it harder to watch because they’re going to force you to buy another subscription to watch. It is odd watching without the crowds but I don’t miss hearing people in the background screaming ridiculous things.

Thank you for your insights, Alex. I am with you there; I do not miss the absurd things fans/patrons yell.

I do not want to get off topic, but is there anything funny about yelling:

    mashed potato/es, baba booey?

I know what is the story behind these two silly phrases, but is it necessary?

  4. I loved it. I was watching on ESPN+ and watched the featured pairings on thurs, fri, and sat. Watching a featured pairing play the entire 18 gave me a better feel for the course and it was fun to see the drama within the round for those guys.

I totally agree with you. Watching featured groups is the best option, however, I only do it on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday and Sunday I watch the whole thing.

Since the pandemic, I have been watching more golf than I should because I have been working from home. Is this the case for you?

It was great to have a major back on tv! I enjoyed it, the golf was awesome. Lots of potential winners and a heroic performance by the eventual champion. can't wait for the US open!

Absolutley loved the PGA all weekend. It makes uch a difference when the events are on the West Coast which allows for prime time television on the east coast. They set up the course extremely well and created a tight grouping of potential winners. Very compeling and excited to see where Colin can go from here!
  8. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought the course set up was good, and the golf was exciting. So many competitors in the hunt on the back nine Sunday made it extra special. I do miss the crowds, however the volunteers were pretty vocal rooting on the local kid to victory. No disrespect to the winner, just my age showing.

That muni was set up fair but tough. I like municipal courses and play them when I have the opportunity. I play one that was built in 1929 and is undergoing a total renovation. New rating 72.5, 131 slope. Would like to see more old school municipals courses used. I loved it. Good shots rewarded, bad shots penalized. The way a major should be played. I really enjoyed watching it. Only the strong survived the San Francisco weather conditions which can be fickle this time of the year. Five thumbs up.

For most of the tournaments, I haven’t really missed the crowds, but this would have been great with them. Collin is going to be a force on tour and it’s great to see his caddy JJ who’s is from Napa, to have success.

This was about exciting as it could get. 6 players tied for the lead at one point. You had to believe there was going to be a playoff. PGA said what ever number of players there were tied at the end of the regulation, they would play as 1 group!! Crazy!
What a great round by CM to win it.....a chip in on 14 and then to hit that incredible tee shot on the green on 16. A bounce to the right would have put him in the bunker! And then to make the putt!!!

Don't miss the fans ridiculous call out after a shot.

I loved it! I had it recorded most except for Sunday we watched that live. The course set up was tough (or looked tough), but loved the course in pictures and the way the pros played it.

Plenty of really good competitors who played and were glad to see the big boys duke it out on the last day.

Very happy for Morikawa's first major under his belt. I've seen him three times and he does well, but can't help the news among friends about him and there he has proven it at a great arena. I only wish he's a Team Titleist ambassador.

Would I want to see a gallery? Of course! But this is just the times we're in- I'm sure there's two sides including pros and cons. For now, I'm just happy there's that.

They showed a person on top of the fence watching the tour including a small group of people at a partial uncovered fence trying to watch as much as they could- cheering! Funny, but people like golf and they wish they're outside the ropes and not outside the fence. The TV coverage was the best.

I enjoyed this past weekend of golf. I actually have a connection to this past weekend’s winners......Collin Morikawa and Rose Zheng. We all know what Collin won, but for those that don’t know Rose Zhang won the US Women’s Am this past weekend.

My connection to Collin is that we both went to Cal. I met him a few years ago at a fund raiser for the golf team at Cal. What a class act! Go Bears!

As for Rose, she plays out of my home course. Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine. Same place we had a Team Titleist event back in December. Those of you might remember that she was on the putting green while we were taking a group picture before teeing off. Remember the name, she will win a major on the LPGA before it is all said and done. Ironically, the woman she beat in the semi-finals also practices all the time at our course.

We are all hoping Rose brings that trophy by the course for us to see.

Thanks for the info about Rose Zheng. I'll be sure to keep my eye on her!

About the PGA I found it to be exciting and a nail-biter. Great TV!

The event was awesome and the venue was perfect. I love watching a tournament at a course I have played and what was even more special is I played it the Wednesday following the tournament. The course was still set up like it was for the pros, but the roughy was supposedly cut a bit (Fooled me). Narrow fairways and perfect greens.
