Wow, a female golfer holed an Ace at Sheep Ranch with a putter on the par 3 16th at 102 yards. Her caddie advised her on how high to tee the ball. She swung her putter like she was punching a wedge and when the ball made it onto the green, it caromed off her husbands ball and ended up in the bottom of the cup. Her husband got the whole thing on video. Congrats to Allison on her first Ace! Maybe I should try my trusty Cameron putter off the tee sometime.

Once again proving the old adage, "If you live long enough, you'll see everything".

Now's the time to have one as the bars are still closed on Bandon property. :)

One fun tradition on Bandon's The Preserve is to play the last hole (Hole #13) with a putter from the tee. I made a birdie that way.

Does that still count as using a Texas Wedge?

For me it does. Born and raised in Fort Worth so anywhere I use the putter off the green is using my Texas Wedge. At Bandon, I also use the hybrid like a putter when further off the green on a light lie. Pretty common shot on Old Mac.

Goes to prove, not how you drive, but how you arrive........and that luck has a lot to do with it......

My wife is very comfortable using her putter from off the green but from 102 yards?

I have seen the video a couple of times and it is unreal. Thank you for sharing this great story. I showed it to my wife, and she told me that's why she'll keep using her putter from whichever lie or distance she feels like.

  20. Brilliant.... I've never had an ace...
My friend has had 2 - both with worm-burner mis-hits with a hybrid that scuttled along the ground like a putt...
At least the lady meant to keep it under the wind!
