Hello Team Madgolfer here, today I played Royal Links Golf Club here in Vegas. So the reason that I'm posting is that during my round a couple of situations came up and I wanted to run them by the team. 1st. The HEAT!!! We teed off at 7:30am it was 92° with overcast from the California fires, by the time we finished around noon it was 108°.The reason I bring this up is because I shot a 83 (38/45) not bad I guess (6 over the last 4 holes). Let me just remind everyone to HYDRATE because my decision making was horrible those last 4 holes. Honestly I was just ready to go .

2nd...My wife bought me a box of Titleist Velocity in Matte green and I must say I love them. First of all I could see my ball all day without asking for help .Secondly for a distance ball I didn't get much run out on approach shots, don't get me wrong they're not PRO Vs but they hit and sat pretty good. Anyone else like them?

And that brings me to my 3rd point. Since I do have 5 boxes of the old faithful Pro V 1Xs at home, I decided to play my ProVs on the par 3s and play the green Velocity balls on the par 4s & 5s to save them. One of my playing partners took exception to this saying that I could only do that if I lost or damaged the ball??? So Team is that true???.... thanx. Madgolfer hitemstraight

The “One ball rule” is a local rule that some tournaments, courses, organizations can implement. If you are not playing under this added rule like the PGA does, you can change balls from one hole to the next. You cannot change the ball during the play of any given hole unless the ball is damaged (thus you cannot have a ball you play into greens and then a different putting ball).

If you are asking about playing strictly by the rules switching styles of balls during a round is not legal. If you start with the Pro V you can't switch at any point during the round to the Velocity and vice versa.

Thanks gentlemen that's good to know, I've never thought about having to have all the same balls in my bag during a tournament. Right now I have a sleeve of of Pro V 1Xs, 2 Pro V 1s and 5 of the green Velocity balls. I had better clean out my bag before my next SNGA event ...madgolfer hitemstraight

Great score, and Dale clarified the ball rule, so there is not much to say but.
Congrats on the round, stay hydrated, take plenty water and drinks with you, if all possible seek shade during waiting periods of your round, for example when you are waiting for someone to finish their shot so you can move up. I also carry a wet towel when is really hot to help cool my head and sholders.
Stay safe and have fun out there
