Good morning, My group and I are heading out to a nearby course today that we have never played. I love the excitement of playing a new course. Trying to figure our the subtleties the course offers, elevation change, greens etc. I can't wait. Does anyone else get this excited or is just me?

I think if you’re in this group we all enjoy this. I recently got to play a new course and could barely sleep the night before because I was so excited.

Any time we get out there to tee it up is super exciting! Hope you enjoy your round buddy

I'm always excited to play a new course. I enjoy the challenge of trying to post a decent score without really knowing what lays ahead on the course.

I'm with you on this one. Nothing like playing a new track for the first time.
  6. I agree, playing a new track is always exciting, although with few exceptions, I want to go out and play it again after I have finished to use the local knowledge and adjust how I would play the course.
  7. Most definitely! It’s like collecting baseball cards as a kid.

Always enjoy a new challenge and new surroundings. Always trust my Bushnell, it has never failed me and does not have the slope feature.

I find it absolutely thrilling due to the 'first time' experience and uncertainty of what the course will unveil, however, it can be challenging to score birdies or even pars.

Having said that, I am always up for the challenge and looking forward to sharing beautiful memories of playing a course for the first time.

I am very fortunate to belong to a very well conditioned private country club (after playing public golf for many years). But playing a new course is exciting and fun - even if it is not in great condition.

I am a great believer that once you hit the first tee shot on even a scruffy 9-holer, golf becomes golf!!!
  11. My foursome played a nicer course than we usually play to celebrate one of the guys' birthdays and I could barely sleep the night before lol
  12. Yeah I really enjoy a new course. All about smart play and course management.

I have 2 tournaments upcoming and they are both on courses that I have never played. To say I'm excited, would be an understatement! They are two weeks away and i already can't sleep through the night!

Love the new course challenge it is very energizing. But any time I tee up the ball I'm pumped but new courses are a special feeling....

I'm lucky that I have a wife who loves golf and we always take our clubs on our trips. This year has been tough but we did get away once to play The Pete Dye River Course at Virginia Tech and to stand at their clubhouse overlooking the course really got me excited.
