Didn't notice much difference in how it affected my index. I was a 5.0 when we switched to WHS. It changed as a result to 4.8. Got to 4.4 in September. Back to 5.0 when the posting season ended last week here in MD. No complaints. Felt like I've been playing more like a 6 or 7 anyway! So I guess, it's not so bad.
  3. Mine hardly changed. 6.7 to 6.3. 20 to 11 seems like a huge jump if the only change was World Handicap

It works well for us in the US. When our index updated every 2 weeks, there were a lot of guys playing much differently than their handicap would indicate. Both better and worse. Now with the daily updates, the index follows how you are playing much more closely.

For you guys in the UK, I would expect your indexes to drop a bit. Going from only basing your handicap on scores posted in the Monthly Medal to posting every score you shoot will give you a lot more scores that are not played under competion to base your handicap on.

I prefer the new system and the frequency in which the index has calcuated.

To me, doesn't make much difference. Mathematically, would make it quicker for handicap to go down and would take longer to go up. A good thing in combating sandbaggers.

I like the new system daily updates were nice.

Makes no difference and seems fair. For someone who plays a few times a year and only plays in handicap events could encourage loading up scores prior to an event, but committee could recognize loaded scores.

It's just a number...whether it's 2, 10 or 20 you still need to go out and shoot the best scores you can. Some days you'll be up, other days you'll be down and be honest with the scores you post.
  10. Playing in, almost weekly, handicapped rounds at my club, the daily updates have been welcomed. The biweekly updates would have players playing very different than their hdcp may indicate.
