Differing equipment (balls, clubs) for tour pros to limit shot distances

Golf has always been "viewed" as an exclusive and elitest game not meant for the masses. I would argue the exact opposite and that it's a very close knit group of players that originate from every walk of life, diversity, gender, etc..

Why the youth of American should walk instead of riding golf carts when playing?

Topgolf and the rise of TopTracer/technology - cally's acquisition of Topgolf will change the face of casual golf in the next 5 years. The number of "off-course" visits/occasions (i.e. TG, Driveshack) is about the same as "on-course" golfers - with about 1/2 of off-course visitors new to the sport entirely. The funnel that these venues could bring into on-course golfing is enormous. Additionally, the TopTracer business is an interesting add-on to golf. Currently, its installed in 7,500 bays worldwide with a TAM of 650,000 bays worldwide. Once the network hits critical mass, this could also be a funnel into golf. The offseason tour could be something, or think about the ramifications for fitting and also new equipment - cally or Titleist could know that you are hitting your 3 wood a certain distance or a certain ball flight and their new equipment might help so they market it to you.

Maybe a paper on the Distance discussions the R and A , USGA are having and bifurcation of the golf ball.

Why golf is a sport, despite those who say otherwise.

I like Andrew A's idea. That is a big misconception for the non-golfers I know. Public courses in metropolitan areas brings together all walks of life and is a melting pot of race/gender/age/wealth. I grew up playing public courses and it didn't matter what your profession/background was, on the course you are equals, a CEO could lose to the kid that picks the range balls. I would argue that a public golf course is the most diverse place in the entire city/town on any given day.

how golf is trying to get more of the youth involved in playing golf through the First Tee Program, junior leagues through your local golf course,and PGA junior league just to name a few...

Definitely why shorts should be allowed on the PGA Tour.

A couple thoughts...

1) How to make golf more inclusive for BIPOC and women
2) Why high handicappers should play blades to become better ball strikers
3) Why white pants should be abolished

Maybe look at a sampling of resort courses versus country clubs, versus public golf courses. Most all courses have a web site with a contact email address. Contact a sampling from each group and ask how many rounds are played at each. Then argue what makes one group more played over the others. Just a thought...

Either something about the revitalization of golf because of the pandemic, after years of decline, or the comparison of the greats of the game over the last century given the advancing technology of the equipment, trying to compare apples to apple pie
