    Hey, everyone.

    Did you catch Justin Thomas' win at THE PLAYERS? Justin described his play on Sunday as, “Probably one of the best rounds of my life tee to green. I had total control of the ball."

    It was an amazing performance and the ball he controlled so well? It was the new 2021 Pro V1x.

    So how and why did Justin end up switching his golf ball?

    In early November, the final iterations of the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls were ready for player testing. Justin met with Titleist Tour Consultant for Golf Ball R&D, Fordie Pitts, for a full day of testing on his home course in Florida. They hit every shot with every club, and ultimately, Justin put the new X into play the very next week at Mayakoba.

    WHY JUSTIN SWITCHED TO THE NEW PRO V1x

    1) JT loved the increased spin that the new Pro V1x gave him around the greens

    (Thanks to the softer urethane cover formulation developed for the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x)

    2) New Pro V1x gave Justin higher trajectory throughout the bag

    (The new 348-dimple design created for the 2021 Pro V1x results in slightly higher launch and steeper angle of descent for greater stopping power on approach shots)

    3) Justin enjoyed the added distance he experienced with new Pro V1x

    (Pro V1x 's new high-modulus casing layer and advanced aerodynamics combine to generate higher ball speed and lower spin off the driver)

    Saturday & Sunday's rounds were both really sharp. JT would have won pulling away if his putter had been hot on the front 9 Sunday.

    Great article Rick. JT was solid over the weekend and his control of his Pro V1x was incredible!! Us mere mortals will never have that kind of control, but at least we know it’s possible!! Great work JT!!

    Everything I own is titleist except ball. I hit the ball I own higher, straighter, with more spin, and better feel, than any titlesist ball I have ever tried. I would loved to be convinced that Titleist prov1 is better.

    I own all titleist clubs but not ball. Please advise.

    A question: why would your play 'all Titleist clubs' and then not play the ball they were specifically designed and developed, over years and years, to hit?

    I have to agree with JT. When Titleist sent me the new balls, and I went on to course with them I found the exact same thing as Justin did, and I am miles from his expertise. But Titleist makes such an amazing product that even amatuers like me can tell the difference. I have always been a ProV1 player but I too have switched over to the Xfor those same reasons as JT

    The new Pro V1x is a total game changer. The flight and spin combination is simply effortless.
    I also have noticed that it's slightly more durable and soft to the touch with the putter.

    Was using the 2020 AVX for the very soft feel, but after my Virtual Ball Fitting this week I'm excited to sample the 2021 Pro V1x for all the same reasons above. Thanks Titleist for all the terrific service!

    The new ProV1x is an incredible ball. I really like the softer feel with the wedges and off the putter face. Didn't think it was possible to make a better ball.. but you did.

    The new Pro V 1 x gave me the same distance as the Velocity ball off my driver and even more spin on my scoring irons than the previous Pro V 1x. I constantly have other golfers how I get my pitches to check up on the hard greens we have here in Arizona. I know a large part of it is the Titleist Pro V 1x ball.

    Fordie And JJ are the finest golf ball performance expects anywhere. JT confirmed what they helped to bring to the market.
