    What a great article Rick! Thanks for sharing these stories about the Left Dash, very cool stuff. I made the switch to the left dash at the beginning of this golf season. Been playing it for a little over a month now, 10 rounds in. I am in love with this ball. Coming from the 19 Pro V1, I was also looking for a higher flight, lower spinning, firmer golf ball. I am a scratch golfer, and this ball fits me perfectly. I am noticing greater distance, especially at the top end of my bag. The left dash also has great green side control. The ball on my approach shots take a hop and stop on a dime. Same with my wedges. The ball stops and sits, doesn’t spin back. Gives me greater confidence to attack the flag. Playing today in 20+ mph of wind, I was amazed at how well the ball held its line against that wind. My only little gripe, if I have to have one, is that my SM8 wedges cut these balls pretty easily on full swing and sand shots. I have found them to not be as durable as the previous generation Pro V1’s. But that’s just me, I’m a high spin player. Which is why I love this ball. I am very appreciative of Titleist for offering this ball as part of the loyalty rewarded program. I seriously hope that Titleist will continue to offer this ball, or an updated version of it in the future. I totally agree with the statement that “Pro V1x Left Dash continues to suit a wider range of golfers than Titleist engineers had originally anticipated.” Good luck in your own testing Rick.     Thanks for sharing your thoughts, David. Very helpful. I'll keep an eye on the durability point you raised– I wonder if that may be a function of the Left Dash's higher compression core (with a soft core, the cover material can flex more, which tends to reduce the shearing force). Really excited to test it in the wind, too. Thanks again!

    The Pro V1x Left Dash is an awesome addition to the Pro V1 lineup. I still game the Pro V, but my son loves the Left Dash. He’s a strong player and has always struggled with controlling spin on his approach shots. I don’t have that problem with my slower swing speed!! The Left Dash affords him the trajectory and spin control he’s been looking for. As mentioned, it’s particularly good in the wind. Great golf ball!!

    Thanks for sharing this Rick! I’ve been playing the Pro V1 for about 6 years but several months back I did a ball comparison between the Pro V1, the X and the left dash. I did my testing on Trackman and compared numbers with driver, 7 iron, pitching wedge and 58°. I was amazed at the numbers I was producing with the extreme ends of the bag. Driver was spinning less and I gained almost 5 mph of ball speed! That was a huge gain right there. When it came to the 58° I was seeing my normal yardages on full swings but I was getting almost 1,000 rpms more spin which is something I’ve been looking for in a ball without losing feel. After my testing, I determined that the left dash was the best ball and have put it into play! Thanks to Team Titleist I’m bringing my best to the course!

    Glad to hear it, Alex! Keep up the good play. Amazing how clearly TrackMan can reveal the differences between ball models, isn't it?

    i played the left dash all last year, and will be playing it again this year.


    of all the balls i've played, the left dash just seems to explode off the driver. it's not something i NEED per se, but it's a welcome feeling.


    the primary reason i love the left dash is the way it responds on the green from full swings. with most balls if you have a 9 iron or wedge in hand, and a green that has either a false front or slopes back to front, you have to be very careful to control your spin lest you pull it off the front, or try to throw it way past to account for the spin. with the left dash it just seems to drop and stop, even on full swings. this behavior makes the approach game so much simpler, and is the reason i play it. i can take a yardage to the flag, play that yardage, and know my ball will almost always be right by its pitch mark.


    the ONLY thing i'd like to see is a yellow version.

    Good read- thank you for sharing. I've only played the Left Dash for a short period of time in early 2020, and I can't remember if it was handed out at a TT San Diego outing or were they my own that I brought with me around the time it was introduced at our pro shop when I picked up a box.

    While I don't have any stats on it, I do remember playing well with it and said to my self that I'd like to change to that ball... but out of sight- out of mind as here and there, I have ordered 2020/2021 ball supply in the loyalty program with my usual Pro V1.

    Anyway, 2021 is looking very promising for a much more regular rounds and I'll be sure to pick up a box or two for my own testing and observations.

    I wish that my test sleeve was not all ProV1x but a combination of the ProV1, the ProV1x and the left dash.
    I ordered the Buy 3 get 1 free of the ProV1x but I was strongly considering the left dash by the description.
    I know that I will have a strong year, but now I'll always have the left dash doubts. With a new lineup of balls it would be nice to sample the 3 types.

    I was recently fitted by our Club’s Titleist Rep for (and ordered) an all new Titleist bag - TSi3 Driver, TSi3 3-wood, TSi3 18* hybrid, T-100S 4-PW and SM8 wedges to go along with a Scotty Newport 2 I bought recently. Can’t wait to get the new sticks!

    However, while being fitted and looking at the numbers, the Fitter asked what ball I played - which I told him I had played the regular ProV1x for years. Based on my trajectory and numbers, he suggested I give the Left Dash a try. Although I just received my 4 dozen regular ProV1x’s last week, I bought a dozen of the Left Dash to give a go. All I can say is “Wow” - I was blown away by the way it performed and suited my game. I will definitely be putting the Left Dash in play this weekend in the Member-Member!

    Another reason Titleist is the best out there!

    Great Article, I have been playing Left Dash for about a year. I picked up 5-10 yards easily by lowering the driver spin. I have plenty of short game spin with this ball, the hop and stop chips are consistent with the ball. A little firmer feel off the putter which helps me as well. Expand the options (colors & high numbers) and promote this ball more it’s a keeper.

    I took the leap last year and started playing the left-dash. I have been a staunch ProV1x gamer. At first, I will suspect of the firm feel off the driver but with the wedge and putter I was super impressed with the feel and sound. The performance overall has been awesome through the bag from a spin perspective and has me consistently in the ranges I want to be in. I will echo the others who commented that the ball is a rockstar in the wind. I played the ball at Bandon Dunes with some days with steady coastal winds and found myself having to adjust to NOT compensate for as much wind. In the end, I am happy that I made the choice to give left-dash a try!

    Just ordered up my 3 + 1 dozen Pro V1x when I got a dozen Left Dash to test out. Wish I would have waited, the Left Dash perform slightly better for me, a little more distance, straighter and tighter on short shots. If I was ordering today I'd order the left dash. I swear I even putt better with them. Hit some drives to distances I've never reached before on my home course.

    Wow! I thought the left dash was jyst to line up your putts on the best axis for the ball. I didn't know about all the aerodynamic stuff. I remember way back in the 1960's if yoou played the Titleist 10" compression, the grooves in your clubface would scar the ball a bit, but nothing felt or sounded better then getting alot of balata. Iron men and wooden clubs back in the day where everythingvwas 100% better.

    I personally loved them. My big miss with the driver is the random slice which these took out completely. I ended up sticking with the prov1 since there are several local courses where I have to hit a fade.

    I have hit a 355 yard teeshot with the
    – pro V1 X and won a long drive competition with it. It’s an awesome ball and has the spin to stick the greens from 55 yards and in. What else is there to say. ‍♂️

    I've been playing the left dash for the Last year. What a great ball. High launch angle and stop and drop on the greens.

    I played the Pro V1x for years, then switched to the Pro V1 because I needed a ball with less spin to lessen my draw (well, hook). I scored slightly better after this switch for a time. After reviewing my launch monitor data for my TSi3 driver using the Pro V1, I noted that I could increase distance with a bit more with a higher launch angle and less spin. After reading about the Left Dash, I bought a dozen to try. The firmer feel didn’t bother me while putting with my Teryllium 22, which was an initial concern. I believe my sidespin is less leading to more playable misses. Distance-wise, I’ve gained 10+ yards on my driver and several yards through my entire bag. The best endorsement for this ball? My index had dropped from 17.2 to 11.2 over past five months since this switch. PLEASE, KEEP IT IN THE LINEUP!

    Was fitted for the left dash late last summer, which in itself was a great experience when the titleist ball fitter visited my home course.

    For me left dash took lots of spin off, giving a much more penetrating ball flight that no longer ballooned (had always previously played pro V1X x)

    Left dash is longer with the irons and driver. Little firmer around the greens but I actually like the feel now have played the ball for a few rounds.

    Fantastic option and worth trying if you get the chance, especially if you are a high spin player...

    Best advice is to get fit, ball such an easy thing to overlook, my eyes were opened to the left dash.....
