I just wanted to give a quick plug for the First Tee program in Houston. My son has been a member for about two years now. They have recently opened a large classroom facility at Houston Memorial Golf Course (where the Houston Open is played) and it's incredibly impressive. Coaches are great and my son has really been able to learn about golf both on and off course. The First Tee program also has it's own 9-hole course which is perfect for those learning, while still providing a challenge of appropriate distance and green skill. I was able to get my son out for his first 9-holes and he seemed to really enjoy it. On hole 2, I saw his frustration in ball striking, but on hole 4 I saw him feel the joy of a clean drive off the tee. "It felt really light, dad." Now he's chasing that dragon.
